I don't remember 2019 as a particularly good year in terms of the quality of Adriana's work, to be honest. She was active with the Puma thing, which for her financially would have been an important agreement, without a doubt, but I would have liked it better in another record, Adriana's sexy and athletic image is already highly exploited and she has much more to offer. In 2018 she was more active, but it is still a year that is far from what she achieved in her best time. The thing is, if you compare the quantity and quality (this is key) of Adriana's work from 2010 to 2015, also with a pregnancy involved (being younger, yes, and that helps a lot when it comes to recovering), with that of 2017, 2018 to date, there is a huge difference and not for the better. I remember that at that stage every year she has a relevant Vogue cover (because Vogue Arabia... yes, it's Vogue, but that's it, Vogue Arabia), we saw her in Vogue Italia, Vogue France, INCREDIBLE covers in Vogue Spain and every year got at least one in Vogue Brazil. Obviously I'm not saying she didn't do anything in the last few years, but she definitely could and should have done a lot more, much more prestigious covers and runway shows, considering who she is and how amazing she looked until the pregnancy. Now, if she wants to do it on her own... because even before meeting André, I think around the end of 2018 or 2019, she leaves her agency and agent, she spent a while trying to move on her own, being her The one who managed everything. Logically, it is much more complicated that way, especially considering that Adriana is not the model with the best contacts in the fashion world. Also, it was during that time that she was dating the Turkish guru, who I think manipulated her a lot and was not good for her career, or for her in general. About FIFA, attending a gala in 2014, it really doesn't mean anything for her to now have this role. Because that's as far as Adriana's relationship with football ends, when FIFA called her almost 10 years ago to present something about the 2014 World Cup being played in Brazil. And she is not the only celebrity that FIFA has contacted to involve in one of their ceremonies. None of them should work for FIFA on a regular basis. To present something at a ceremony in a timely manner? Well, could be. To work regularly for FIFA? It's absurd. And it's normal that many people complain about it because it doesn't make sense at all, which is common in FIFA. I already said, it is that it doesn't make sense to see the FIFA congress with hundreds of presidents and representatives of the football federations of each country and, in addition, a supermodel. As a fan of Adriana, I don't want to see her there, I want to see her on a cover, fashion show or campaign. As a person who has always liked football, I don't understand what she's doing there. It isn't a justifiable decision because once she went to a gala or once Adriana published two posts about football on IG. On the other hand, I get your point about her stepping aside until she's back to her usual body. I would feel bad for her and I think she would set a bad example in a way. Adriana has not gained weight because she has been eating a lot and poorly while she is lying in bed all day, she has gained weight because she has had a child and she is a woman who also gains a lot of weight during pregnancies, it's something completely natural. I feel terrible that she receives this criticism, because it hurts me as a fan of Adriana and, above all and more important, because they are absurdly unfair and perpetuate the idea that women cannot stop being perfect for a second of our lives, not even when you are a mother for the third time at 41 years old. It's insane. And for her to "hide" as if she had to be ashamed of her body would be like agreeing with those people.

As a fan, it's sad to see how Adriana has managed her career in the last few years of her career, really. A woman with so much potential, so iconic and has wasted her time on worthless projects with people who aren't prepared or experienced in managing a model's career. She has always been too influenced by her closest environment. And even more now that the world of fashion seems to open it mind a bit to allow models over 30 yo to continue working actively, until not so long ago, a model when she turned 30 practically had to retire. Fortunately, that has changed and now we can see some models reaching the best moments of their careers at 35, 37 or 39 years old. But nevertheless, in the case of Adriana, that she should be one of the most benefited by these changes... she has given us very little valuable material in the last 5 years and I was optimistic about Adriana's career, once her stage at VS is over, free of that contract that is as restrictive as it is lucrative, we would see very interesting work from her, but no. Regarding her work with FIFA, I still maintain my opinion. I don't know how much they pay her for it, I don't know if they are paying her a lot, at least I hope so, because honestly she doesn't fit in there. I still think it doesn't make sense. You see all those FIFA events and, logically, it's full of retired footballers, which is normal. And in the midst of all those people who have dedicated their lives to football, a supermodel. And only one, because it's not like there are other models, designers or anyone else who comes from the world of fashion. There is Adriana and a lot of former football players, managers, directors of football organizations, football journalists. Has no sense. It isn't the environment in which, as a fan, I want to see Adriana, nor do I think Adriana should be there.

Candice has the same career as Adriana, with the difference that she started 8 years later. At one point, they are more commercial models than HF models or fashion magazine editorials. I remember that in the world of fashion everyone hated when a model signed as an angel with VS, it was like the sentence to her career as a model beyond posing in lingerie. VS demanded a lot of exclusivity, if you signed as an angel with them, yes, they will pay you very well to compensate for the exclusivity, but your career will pretty much come down to VS, which obviously isn't the most prestigious or glamorous company.

Who knows. I don't think it's for that reason, considering that she already made an appearance at The Best awards, it's true that they don't have the same impact, but if she had a problem with her body, I suppose she wouldn't have attended either. And, in general, in these last photos, she already looks much , much better. And from her IG posts, she also seems a lot more confident. It seems impossible to me that, in case she wants to attend, she has not been invited. Maybe mom duties.

I just saw it. A pity there are no pics of the event. And above all, a pity that she didn't attend the Vanity Fair party, which is the most important event. A bit weird, on the other hand. She attended the event several times, when she didn't live in LA and her boyfriend was not a movie producer.
  7. borg replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I also think it was for an event. In LA there are always many events the day before the Oscars.
  8. borg replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
She hasn't attended the Vanity Fair party? For what event was all that makeup, hair, dress that she posted?
  9. borg replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
I hope all these nasty comments don't affect her in the least. And, above all, don't make her do stupid things that she doesn't need in the slightest. The more natural she stays, the better she will look because her beauty is innate.

The football industry is different. For a long time there has been an effort to include women in organizations such as FIFA, so that they have a greater presence and a voice, until now FIFA has only used women as trophies with which to attract the attention of men. I adore Adriana, she has always been my favorite model, but I understand that many see Adriana as a profile that remains the same, because everyone knows Adriana because of her work as a lingerie model for VS, the suspicions are more than founded.

I was just going to post a new about that too, although from The Times newspaper (https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/fifa-criticised-for-tone-deaf-appointment-of-adriana-lima-as-fan -ambassador-6lfbbjpgw), but basically the same. It was very predictable that these criticisms would arrive and they make sense, if we are honest. It doesn't make sense that FIFA chose Adriana. And I blame FIFA much more than Adriana, that she simply accepted a job that was offered to her. I also understand who sees this as something sexist, if you have to choose a woman for this position, do you just choose a gorgeous and very sexy supermodel? I mean... hard to imagine that, for men's football, they would choose a male supermodel instead of some retired player or manager to fill that role. Just another botch from FIFA.

In Spain, which is where she lives and develops most of her work, she is relatively famous. Not famous to the level that people ask her for pics on the street, but famous in the sense that there are articles about her on various websites telling about her life and who she works for. She is the daughter of Radomir Antic, who died in 2020, a famous Serbian footballer and coach in Spain. She is a luxury stylist who has worked and works for quite a few celebrities in Spain, including Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend, Georgina. She met Adriana through a serbian friend of her ex-husband, Marko Jaric.

Yes, she has some past episodes with football, but in a very casual way like anyone from a football country has when there is a World Cup. For example, my mother or my friends who don't like football, watch the national team matches when there is a World Cup (or when the city team plays a very important match), because of the beautiful atmosphere and the tradition of cheering on the selection of your country or the team of your city together with your friends and family, especially important for the brazilian culture. I think that this is the type of approach that Adriana has with football, in a casual way. I remember her talk with Marta and I think also Dani Alves in one of those IG Lives that she did and you can perfectly say that she is not very involved in the world of football. And it's not a bad thing. But I understand that many people, for that type of work in the most important body in the world of football, prefer someone with a better knowledge of the sport and who follows it on a more regular basis. And there are probably other women who deserve that position more for their contribution to the world of football. It's a bit like when they put actresses, singers or any Instagram influencer to do work related to the world of fashion, it feels intrusive.

I didn't expect this kind of work for her. It surprises me. I have seen some criticisms and I have to say that, as long as they are respectful, I can understand them. It's a bit strange that Adriana has been the chosen one for that job considering that she has no relationship with football, she has never worked on it, neither as a player nor as any other role and it cannot even be said that she posts much content about football, on her IG you hardly see a football team jersey or even a ball, instead you do see more posts involving boxing or MMA. Those who say that it's a bit forced and that this job should go to some former women's football player or some journalist who has covered football for many years seem legitimate and convincing arguments to me. Beyond that, FIFA is a controversial body for its corruptions in the recent past, I would prefer that Adriana not be associated with them.

She still looks quite different from how many remember her, her face still looks swollen, I hope people won't be too hard on her with comments about her physical appearance, especially considering that these kinds of football ceremonies always have a large audience and are widely talked about on social media.

I don't expect much activity, at least as a model, from Adriana, not this year, and I don't think ever again. Maybe she'll do some more campaign for some brand, some cover of some magazine, but as a model I think even she doesn't plan to make a big comeback and I would like nothing more than to be wrong about this. I think she's going to explore other fields, besides the work she does for the gym. That's why I think she asked a few days ago in her stories about whether people want her to write a book and about what, for example.

The exhibition is now, but the pic is old, it isn't uncommon for old pics to be exhibited in an exhibition. And yes, the pic is probably from 2013. In any case, you can clearly see in the pic that Barbara looks quite a bit younger, it's not a pic from at least the last 5 years.

Yeah, they definitely didn't want to do her any favors with the styling. At least with the first, the second outfit I directly don't understand it lol

In a way, I see it as you do, I have a feeling that she will soon be engaged to this guy. Probably because she has already seen how many of her friends of the same age or even a little younger have already gotten married and some of them have even had children, like Romee, Shanina or soon Jasmine, in addition to Josephine or Lais who have already married, or Taylor who is engaged. I don't think she wants to be the only one who isn't married and doesn't have children in the group (I think Josephine will be pregnant soon, if we are making predictions), because Sara has already said several times that she would like to be a mother. But on the other hand, it's not like a year is already a long time as a couple. She was with her previous partner, that guy Olivier, for about 6 or 7 years and they never took the plunge, although she seemed to have much less chemistry with Olivier than with this guy, they were a bit of an odd couple.

With her current shape, maybe it wasn't the best idea to give her that kind of hairstyle, that ponytail. Usually, I really like that hairstyle on her because it highlights her face, which is extraordinarily beautiful. But right now that ponytail highlights that her face is still very swollen. I thought that her double chin was no longer so noticeable. But I'm happy to see her on a catwalk again.

I don't know how talk about witnessing a murder and that you could have been the person killed, it turns you into a snowflake lol. In any case, enough politics, it's not a forum for it.

She definitely has economic and business interests in maintaining good relations with influential people from Qatar and Saudi Arabia. It's sad but true. Because otherwise, it would be even worse since it would mean that she supports them disinterestedly because she shares the vision of the world of those people who are so retrograde and, obviously, it doesn't seem the case, no matter how much Adriana in some aspects may be a conservative woman, but one of the XXI century. These people know exactly what they are doing by contacting so many celebrities to invite them to events in their countries. They are whitewashing the image that we foreigners have of their countries (dictatorships that don't respect human rights). And all the models, as well as actors, singers, athletes and many more celebrities, are part of this strategy to wash and whiten the image of dictatorships like Qatar or Saudi Arabia. In some cases, including gay celebrities, who lend themselves to whitewashing the image of countries that, if it were up to them, would imprison them just for being gay. It's all very disappointing.

I think that she has already lost some weight because she will surely start to control her diet a bit, but yes, it seems evident that she still hasn't started to work out frequently. All of this makes me think about how much she has had to work out and how exceptionally healthy and probably little she ate to recover so quickly from her other pregnancies, although it's also true that she was considerably younger in her other pregnancies, it is not the same to recover your physical shape at 28 or 31 (when she had her two daughters) than at 41. She has had to make many sacrifices in her other post-pregnancies, probably spending a lot of time in the gym and less at home, now I understand that she will want to enjoy those moments more, it isn't that with Valentina and Sienna she hasn't been able to do it, but having to work out to go back to work with VS and many other advertising campaigns that she had at the time, she sure didn't have that much free time. Now it seems that she has no other commitment (at least as a model) other than her work with this gym, so she takes it more calmly. She may not have that motivation and that will slow her down when it comes to regaining her fitness. I just hope, as you say, that she doesn't do anything to her face. I think she's already messed around with it a bit, but with treatments that aren't permanent. It's evident that, incredible as it may seem, Adriana also has her insecurities and that harmful comments on RRSS can affect her, after all, she is still a human being. And this can lead her to do things she doesn't need.
  24. borg replied to Neo52285's post in a topic in Adriana Lima
The comments about her physique are in very bad taste, those about the hypocrisy of Saudi Arabia and Qatar try to make us believe that they care about the environment and that celebrities promote it, the comments criticizing that seem legitimate to me and I agree with it. In addition to how obscenely cynical it is to care about the planet but promote a World Cup in which thousands of immigrant workers have died in the construction of the stadiums. About her physique, I quite agree with what @Souled-Out has said, Adriana is not looking like many people remember her and she is one of those people who, as soon as she gains weight, all her weight goes to her face. She has a very round face and bloats easily, which makes her look even fatter than she might be right now, she is obviously overweight now, but maybe not as much as she might seem just by looking at her face. And it's normal for her to be overweight, she just had a baby three months ago, like c'mon, how the hell is she supposed to look like? Like when she was 24? It isn't realistic, nor healthy. And we also know that she is one of those women who gains a lot of weight during her pregnancies, there are others who gain less weight and it is easier for them to recover their shape in less time. Another problem is that probably a lot of people who see her now won't know that she just had a baby and they will think that she just got fat because she eats a lot and just doesn't work-out enough. She is not Rihanna and her boyfriend is practically unknown to 99,9999% of people, so her pregnancy has not been the most popular, many don't know about that. If most people knew that she had been a mother 3 months ago, although there would still be cruel comments about her physique because we all know how social media works, there would be far fewer.
