630redhead Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 This is a 1-page ad for an Estee Lauder Gift With Purchase Quote
630redhead Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 1 page from Femme magazine September 1989. The page is not about Estee Lauder but the picture is - the original orientation in the magazine is backward, so I flipped it to the correct orientation. Quote
630redhead Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I just got the April 2010 issue of More magazine and there is a 6-page editorial of Paulina called Get Sporty. I wish my scanner worked so I could scan it and post it! GRRR!!!! I will try to scan it on my other (icky) scanner - but first I need another copy - one of the pages has all the colors kind of running together, like it did not print right. Quote
jal718 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Who's on the cover red? I can pick it up and scan it for you. Quote
630redhead Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Who's on the cover red? I can pick it up and scan it for you. Hi John! It's Dana Delaney on the cover. I took some really crappy pics with my digital camera but I'm dying here without my trusty scanner! Thanks so much for your kind offer. If you do buy the issue - be sure to look at page 96 (the 5th page of the editorial), in mine, the colors are all off - there's a messy yellow glow all over like the colors did not line up right. oops! I also forgot to remove the date stamp before I took the pics... Quote
630redhead Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I noticed at the bottom of the 6th page of the More magazine editorial, there is a link to go to for more on Paulina - www.more.com/porizkova here's what's there... Quote

Thanks for all the pain and effort you put into this, Red. Being without a scanner must be the same as being without telephone and running water. And also the pics you picked up on MORE's website are a treat. I never knew that Paulina had been snubbed such a lot. Why don't they realise who they have in her? Quote
630redhead Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Oh John, thank you so much! I notice your copy has all good pages. I went back to the Barnes & Noble where I purchased mine and looked at about 7 additional copies and they all had the same defect, so they must all be from the same batch. I'm glad to see that the entire lot of them isn't bad. Thanks so much, again! That was really very kind of you. Quote

I never knew that Paulina had been snubbed such a lot. Why don't they realise who they have in her? Hi kalaudia! You are so welcome. And wasn't John so nice to buy More magazine and post the pages for us all?! I am going positively mad without my scanner! Epson is offering no help to me, as I need an update for my scanner driver to make it work with my new computer software - apparently my particular scanner was only made for about 2 years and they don't figure there are enough of them still in use to warrant the time it takes to update the drivers. I am hoping to get a new scanner soon. And although Epson has me a bit peeved right now, I do love their scanners, so I'll probably get a new Epson. I agree - I think Paulina is undervalued. But I also think her attitude toward modeling has hurt her career a bit too. Although if you read the page about her in the More magazine editorial, I think she has mellowed about modeling. I do wish she would do some modeling again like Cindy, Christy, Claudia, Linda and I've even seen Tatjana. There still seems to be a market for our beloved 80's supermodels - if only Paulina would agree to work with a company - maybe Escada? She had a very long relationship with them. I would LOVE to see her do modeling for Estee Lauder again - maybe the Renutriv skincare line - but I don't think she and the Estee Lauder company parted on good terms. Quote
630redhead Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Although I love the new editorial, I think Paulina looks pale and old (it's not her - it's the makeup and photography). I took one of the pics, photoshopped it a bit, then adjusted and warmed her makeup colors... (original on the left, treated pic on the right) Quote
630redhead Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Good news. :hell yea!: I sat down yesterday, determined to find a way to get my scanner working again. It took about 2 hours, but I finally managed to find and download a new driver that made it work again! Instead of using the software on my Mac for scanning, I have to use Epson's version, but with a little work, I think I managed to figure out how to make great scans like I could before. Whew! It was a lot of work, but I'm so happy to have my scanner to use again! This is Vogue US August 1983 - The Inside Story: Lace (Paulina only appears on the 4th page but I like to post the whole editorial if I have it) Quote
