kalaudia Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Thanks a lot kalaudia, your files seem to be very organized.Well, to some extent. My folder of Lauder ads is organized, but everything else is quite at randomand I usually cannot retrieve anything. Quote
paulinafan Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Now I'm going to show you the jewels of my collection. A very nice E.L. customer service agent sent me these pics when Paulina finished her contract. They are not from a magazine, It's the authentic Kodak paper with a small explanation how to print and the product that is made for. They are numbered. I hope you understand me because it's a bit difficult to explain it in other language. When I received in 1995, I was shocked for several days. Perfection indeed!!!!! Thank you so much Xuxa and Kar for the new pics!!This is fantastic! Paulina is the most gorgeous face in the world!! Xuxa, que maravilla, realmente gracias, estas tomas de Estee Lauder son realmente exclusivas! Quote
630redhead Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Hello! Thank you for your compliments. I also need your help in order to find some pics.I'm looking 3 ads which were published in New York Times Magazine. The questios is: Is this magazine the same that the Sunday magazine? I bought all the Sept.88' New york Times magazine issues and the ad wasn't there.Do you know where I can find them? Xuxa - I don't know about the New York Times pictures. There is a New York Times magazine but there is also a New York Times newspaper. Kalaudia was kind enough to send me a scan of the cover of the New York Times that has the "Woman in Velvet" ad she has and the cover says "Fashions of the Times" and Part 2 on it, which leads me to think that maybe it is a periodic supplement to the newspaper? I don't know. Maybe someone here knows about New York and can tell those of us who are a bit clueless about New York what it is we are looking for. Quote
630redhead Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 WOW!!! Xuxa, I am stunned by those breathtaking Estee Lauder pictures!!! I can definitely see why those are the "jewels" of your collection. They are truly special and rare. Thank you so much for sharing them. And Kar, Kalaudia and Missparker - thank you all so much for the beautiful pictures you've shared recently. These last several days have been such a wonderful treat for me! Every day there are so many new and amazing pictures to see. Quote
630redhead Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Hi All,So great to have xuxa's pictures on the internet now. Xuxa contacted me some four or five years ago and was generous enough to send me wonderful scans of everything Estee Lauder that she had compiled and gave me permission to put them up on my Paulina Webarchive. Unfortunately, I could never put this into practice so it's perfect that we have Bellzon. Kalaudia, I completely agree with you. I really enjoy sharing all of my Paulina/Estee Lauder collection here. I think it's more fun to have them if we can all share them with each other. Quote
630redhead Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Here's hi-res scans of the Lauder ads Red and Xuxa are looking for. The first is from Marie-Claire and I include the cover view that you find when you turn the page over. Thank you, Kalaudia! Quote
steve with an s Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Hello Xuxa. The New York Times Magazine is a supplement to the Sunday The New York Times newspaper (the magazine comes with the newspaper). There is also New York Magazine, which is different, and not affiliated with The New York Times. My public library offers an archival text-search of The New York Times. I am able to access the archive through my library's website. I searched just now (actually, for the past several hours!), and find 6 ESTEE LAUDER ads published in The New York Times for the month of September 1988. Here is the list: The New York Times; Sep 4, 1988; pg SM14 The New York Times; Sep 11, 1988; pg 41 The New York Times; Sep 25, 1988; pg 16 The New York Times; Sep 25, 1988; pg 17 The New York Times; Sep 25, 1988; pg SM6 The New York Times; Sep 25, 1988; pg SM7 I would guess that "SM" stands for "Sunday Magazine" (The New York Times Magazine). Sep 25 1988 is a Sunday. If you bought that magazine, and the ad wasn't in it, is it possible that the ad was removed? I hope that's some help. Quote
Xuxa Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Hello Steve! Thank you very much for your help. I'm astonished all of you are so kind and great. I would like to help you in everything I can. If you already wrote down the list I gave you, please make a note of the corrections. Sorry about that! Hi Steve, as usual - you are awesome! Always a wealth of information. Thanks for helping out. For those of us who do not live in or near New York...the New York publications are a bit confusing. Also, any idea where a non-New Yorker might go to view archived New York Times? I tried a few different google searches and it seems that unless I'm a New York resident or a government official, I can't get in to view. Thanks again! Quote
kalaudia Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Wow, Steve, so you searched the needle in the haystack. Xuxa, best of luck so that you find the ads you're looking for! Here's one pic from a layout in Fashion of the TIMES (another branch of the NY Times??!) featuring Khadija, Renata Hawks, Alexa Singer, Felicitas and Paulina. Paulina had only one picture in it. Missparker gave this to me along with its reference: 2 March 1986. Quote

Here is the cover featuring Cecilia Chancellor, the Argenti ad. and the Perry Ellis ad. which is also inside. If the cover looks familiar to you, you may have seen it once for auction at ebay and at the Yasmin Le Bon website. This issue has a bigger editorial with Yasmin inside: http://www.yasminlebon.net/index2.htm Quote
