Paul Thomas Anderson's ‘The Battle of Baktan Cross' Wraps Production

I’m being told that Paul Thomas Anderson’s “The Battle of Baktan Cross,” which is rumored to have a budget anywhere between $140M-$175M, wrapped its production in El Paso, TX earlier this month.

We still don’t have official plot details for the film. It’s all being kept hush-hush, although many signs have been pointing towards this potentially being a modern-day adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s “Vineland.”

‘Baktan Cross,’ which started shooting in January, and is being distributed by Warner Bros, has an ensemble cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Alana Haim. The score is also being composed by Anderson regular Johnny Greenwood (Radiohead).

The film, set for release on August 8, 2025, is said to be Anderson’s “most mainstream” film to date, with action movie elements, and “the biggest stunts of Anderson’s career.” It’s all being shot on glorious 35mm VistaVision. Michael Bauman is being credited as the DP on the project.

EXCLUSIVE Leonardo DiCaprio breaks silence on hanging out with Sean 'Diddy' Combs as picture emerges of him at notorious 'White Party'

 

Leonardo DiCaprio has distanced himself from Sean 'Diddy' Combs after a picture of him at one of the music mogul's notorious 'white parties' emerged. 

A source close to the Hollywood actor, 49, said he hadn't had anything to do with Diddy 'for years.' 

Dailymail.com published re-emerged pictures showing DiCaprio laughing and smoking at one of Combs' notorious 'White Parties' in 1998 at his East Hampton home.

However, a source close to the A-Lister says Leo has 'not been in contact' with Combs for years, saying he never attended 'freak offs', and has nothing to do with the case. 

The pair were pictured together in public was at the Democratic National Convention on July 29, 2004.

The Great Gatsby actor was also seen dancing beside Combs at his 50th birthday in 2019. 

'Leonardo DiCaprio has absolutely nothing to do with any of this,' the source said.

'He attended a few of his parties back in the early 2000s - but literally everyone did. 

'They were not freak offs.

'They were big house parties. Leo was at the start of his career at the time and has moved way past his partying.

'He has nothing to do with any of that world, so for anyone to assume that he will get roped into this based on a few grainy photos that are more than 20 years old is ridiculous.

'Leo is focused on his career and his relationship and is not at all thinking about Diddy's federal case, which he has nothing to do with.'

There is no suggestion Leo or any other celebs at Combs' parties knew about alleged drug taking or orgies.

I’m glad someone in his camp finally said something as his name has been out there this past week as being listed on the FBI celeb list as someone one who attended Diddy’s parties. The lists I’ve seen don’t appear to be from any official source though.
