midnight lady Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 that's very uncomfy I know I lost two years ago 5 kg when I was very sick Quote
Daniela Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 This is what upsets me when I lose weight for diets. I'm not doing any diet actually, it's just that I never feel hungry and I only eat lunch.. the half of it, and the rest of the dayy I only drink apple juice. The issue? I'm loosing weight, but I'm loosing my boobs and ass too. I can't really control this because I only wanna loose the belly and not my boobs and ass, and the time to do excercise is NULE. Quote
midnight lady Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 than don't try to loose weight... believe me your boobs will look like when a mother has a baby!!!you'll need push up bras Quote

wickedcrazyness Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I lost 21 lbs last year when I had pneumonia. It was really bad.Anyway, I hear the most healthy diet if you have to go on one is the diabetic diet. Quote

This is the most stupid and unhealthy way to go about losing weight. You need to combine healthy eating (which also means eating healthy portions, not measily, insufficiant portions) and excercise. Drinking apple juice all day? Can't be too good for the teeth, haha. Try water. If you want to lose the belly then work on that particular part of the body through tailored excercises. Don't be too optimistic about time scale. Most people assume they'll see results in weeks - you won't. If it has something to do with your frame/build, then you'll always be like that, so attempting unhealthy methods to lose this is futile. Quote

To add to that, apple juice isn't the kind of calorie intake you want either. It's great as an ad hoc to your diet, especially in the morning or when you're low in energy but it's almost completely sugar. In a 250mL serving of apple juice, you could expect about 114 calories. 98 of those would be sugar and the rest just other carbs that are still pretty high on the GI scale anyway. Instead snack on real apples. They're bulky and tend to fill you up with half the calories. The added bonus is fibre. Also... eating habits like that can influence the formation of stomach ulcers. You're better off eating MORE meals throughout the day and making them smaller. When you sleep, your metabolism basically shuts down and it starts back up again when you eat breakfast. The secret to having a high metabolism is to not let it shut down again which usually happens when you gor for more than 3 hours without eating. Try something like this (play with the times a little but in general you want 5-7 smaller meals a day): 7:00AM - whole wheat bagel and orange juice (whole wheat bagel = protein & slow acting carbs for sustained energy through the day, OJ = quick shot of energy & vitamins) 9:30AM - trail mix bar (ALWAYS a good snack) 12:00PM - tuna on salad (tuna = protein & omega 3, salad is ALWAYS good) 2:30PM - baby carrots (vitamins & low in calories) 5:00PM - banana (another quick hit of energy before the drive home... and potassium!) 7:30PM - baked salmon and asparagus (salmon is a different mix of protein than tuna, you'll even get a little bit of creatine. asparagus is ALWAYS good too) That might seem like a lot but if you keep the portions small you'll be set. You body will also become a calorie incinerator because you're metabolism is going all day without stopping. Some excersises like pushups and squats will make up for the lost boob/butt fat with some muscular support. Having muscluar definition does NOT make a woman look masculine. Throw a nice brisk morning jog to that and you're set. Quote
penny-dreaddfull Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 ^^^ boku, you just gave someone kind, thoughtful advice. i didnt know you had it in you!! thats great advice....i might try it myself Quote
midnight lady Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 still-exercising is the best I started exercising a little bit since a week(like half an hour morning and evening) and I really can feel the difference in my body and health...I'm being able to walk more without loosing my breath Quote
TooBoku Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Definately. Diet and excersise are symbiotic. Any serious athlete will hire a dietitian as well as a physical coach. It's like driving a car. The car can't take you anywhere without fuel and the fuel can't take you anywhere without the car. It doesn't make any sense putting 87 into a Ferrari or 93 into a Colt. You gotta put the 93 into the Ferrari and leave the Colt and the 87 alone. As far as "cardio" goes, I love swimming. It activates muscles that you almost never use otherwise. It's also a low impact (easy on the joints) activity that requires slower controlled movements. That's great for burning fat whereas high intensity activities like running and power lifting (you see a lot of fat power lifters) are better for burning carbs. Keep it up ML. It's nice to see some people taking care of their bodies even though they look great anyway. Quote
rockTheSky Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 The most workout I ever get these days is lifting luggage into an overhead locker of a plane.: o Quote

Layla90 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 ML, maybe you'll just give up smoking? And I love your explanation, that you love swimming because you don't sweat My New Year's resolution was to exercise a bit every morning (to get better abs ). I skipped this routine only when I was sick, so I'm proud of myself and I guess it also improved my posture a bit still, I wanna try pilates one day! Quote
Lolita Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 healthy eating works for me. good luck girls. Quote
