On a more positive note for Barbara, I understand why she'd be embarrassed and want the photo taken down, but at least she did this professionally. I agree. I feel bad for her if she wanted that to remain private only for her boyfriend or something like that. But at least she can take solace from the fact that it’s an artistic picture for a fashion magazine and many other top models have posed topless (such as Adriana Lima) and a lot of them have done shots that are way more sexual in nature (such as Lais Ribeiro, all the models who posed for Terry Richardson and Pirelli). Her picture is beautiful and she should not be embarrassed about her breasts if she has a hang-up about showing her nipples.

 

And she can keep her topless picture count in just one. A lot of models have several. Doutzen Kroes has even posed bottomless! And from now on, she knows to always insist on just implied nudity on set. I remember TMZ got a video of Kate Upton’s GQ shoot where she was topless on a horse. TMZ censored it but I think it was leaked without her permission. Never do more on a shoot than you are comfortable with, the images change hands so many times that there can be leaks!

It could be anything at this point but I always thought nudity is firmly agreed upon in the contract (is there even a contract), especially since Barbara is a well established model.

Well, it's not exactly private and only for her boyfriend if most of the photographers she works with get to see her naked in person and keep uncensored versions of the pictures.

 

And with how much she posed in Lui and Maxim, I doubt just having her nipples covered would make much of a difference to a bf if just about everything else is shown.

I do understand her panicking if the decision was taken out of her hands. She should have had a topless picture published only when she would have been comfortable and ready for it. I wonder what happened, Love magazine is well-known in the industry. Was there only an oral agreement? Did they think she had changed her mind when she posed topless on set? I can’t imagine them knowingly printing a topless picture of a model if there was a clause against it in writing. It would not be worth it to jeopardize their own reputation.

i know she's from a conservative family, still i don't think so.

 

what will her fans think... what will her parents think... what will her (yet to be born) children think... (i even read this when her bellemere marie claire italy 2014 shoot came out) - imo these opinions show thinking in terms of external control, and therefore depreciative to her.

One other thing that would point to this being a deliberate topless shoot is that this is her third time working with LOVE Magazine if I recall right.

 

Her comfort level would increase from one job to the next. First recreating a movie scene from a legitimate movie (with nude underwear on), then an interview in bed with implied nudity, then a topless black and white picture with hand covering private parts.
