prejean Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Thanks for the inputs, guys The editorial with Kristen/Rachel/Eva was publicated in Vogue (US), may 1993 ("White Mischief"). Another model from the 80´s: Patty Sylvia. She was on the campaign Guess? Jeans S/S 1988. One question: is this girl (covers from Elle Spain) the Portuguese model Júlia Schönberg or another person? (because according to the BZ thread dedicated to Júlia she was born in 1983, so the dates don´t coincide). Quote
fender Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 PJ -Thanks again for data- '83? Julia starts with défilé in 1993 circa ... -Love the Marpessa picture in your avi Quote
prejean Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 For you fender: Marpessa by Barbieri [Can anyone tell me who is (center) in the Karl Lagerfeld´s ad of 1989? I think this girl with Asian features appeared in the book which made Irving Penn for , but I'm not sure.] Quote
aramis Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 The legendary Kristen McMenamy in 1986.It's amazing how she morphed into the "bad girl" of fashion some years later. In this picture, nudity is in the eye of the beholder. First picture is lovely Quote
spiral Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 An old picture of Gianni Versace with Nicoletta Rossi. I dunno what year this picture's from. Maybe 1986? Quote
prejean Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Tania Coleridge (or Tania Harcourt-Cooze), a relative of the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. She appeared in the George Michael´s music video " " (1987).Gianni Versace S/S´1986 Ad Campaign, by Helmut Newton. 1st pic from Anna Battista´s blog. Quote
fender Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Your fashion knowledge is amazing ,PJ Tania looks like a Bond girl Quote
prejean Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Hmmm... I don´t have minded seeing Tania on A View to a Kill, I confess, fender. Or a cameo in one of David Lynch (as Michele Hicks in Mulholland Drive), for example. Good eye, my friend Another model with a similar look: Christine Bergström (I think she also took part in the campaign of Versace´86). Quote
spiral Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Thanks for the link to the Father Figure video. I hadn't seen it in years. The decade of the 80s was amazing in so many different ways: fashion, music, movies, social trends, etc. Best decade ever, IMO. Calvin Klein ads, S/S 1985 model: Josie Borain Quote

Calvin Klein ads, S/S 1985 model: Josie Borain Oh, I love Josie Borain, the sweetness of her face reminds me of a young Ingrid Bergman. And the commercials she did for Obsession perfume, with Jean-Marc Barr... Mmm.. I, honestly, I wouldn´t know for which decade decant me, I´m very unfaithful in that, although the eighties are fascinating, of course. Thanks for the contributions, fender & spiral! A model of the early 80's: Robin Osler. She starred the Gianni Versace campaign FW 1979/80, photographed by H. Newton. More info & pics of Osler here. Quote

spiral Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 A model of the early 80's: Robin Osler. She starred the Gianni Versace campaign FW 1979/80, photographed by H. Newton. Is that a Versace coat she's wearing?? It looks more like a Montana or Mugler design. It seems that there was a wave of Futurism in the popular culture of the late 1970s. In fashion, there was the ascent of futuristic designers such as Montana and Mugler. In music, there was "space disco" (and the subsequent arrival of Synthpop music in the early 80s). The soundtracks of movies and tv shows featured synthesizer music songs. In movies, there was Star Wars and other sci-fi films of the period. The following cover reflects that whole feeling of "looking ahead towards the future" German Vogue, August 1979 model: Nina Klepp Quote
