Supermodel Diva Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 ^ O_O amazing <3 her hair is gorgeous <3 (and now for some shameless selfpromotion xD) a character i drew for my bf (he plays dnd,and asked me to draw something) then I had to make something for myself(even though I don't play lol) and cuz I desperately needed to draw something somewhat realistic (but this one isn't done yet ^^; ) Quote
Laffy Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 :woot: I'm crazy for your work! So nice I'm so glad you're back! Thanks a lot, btw Quote
widget Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 great stuff Laffy, expressive eyes...was the outer perimeter (solid black ending in frizzy-frame) planned from the start or is that just how you felt when you got to it?sweet drawings Supermodel, i luv how you do hair. Quote
Laffy Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Well I knew that I was going to stop the hair before I reached the end of the page, but once I got around to finishing the hair I ended up making it a bit more messy and sparatic than I had originally planned. If that makes sense Btw, I doodle a lot at school (especially during math) and I brought one of my notebooks home this weekend and took picture of the pages. I'll post them sometime... Quote
Laffy Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Here are the few pics that turned out alright: Obviously, none of them are complete ^ I want to redo this one sometime as an actual painting or sketch and make the faces more dynamic. Or maybe do faces of important people throughout history & this is a bracelet I made a while ago out of hemp and buttons. Painted on the figures. I tried to do so many tiny details Quote
midnight lady Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 the braacelet is amazing :| how did you paint it :? Quote
Laffy Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 With very, very fine tipped tools :| A steady hand and lots of patience Quote
Berno Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I'd never be able to do something like that because I've got the patience of a 4 year old. Quote
JoeKnight Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Wow, Supermodel Diva ... those are amazing. Quote
Supermodel Diva Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 @laffy the bracelet is really amazing O_o,,,and I really admire your patience x3 (I get all nervous when I don't finish a portrait in a day :| ) @Joe Tnx oh,btw....this is something a friend of mine drew me...I love it so much, I just had to share it (it's me and Reita from the gazette...if anyone listens to jrock done in photoshop) and this is something I started in photoshop but I don't have the time lately to finish it (Shiva from Final Fantasy X) Quote
Laffy Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 You can finish a portrait in a day? But yeah, I'm not always so patient. As you can see, I have many books full of incomplete doodles & that's really cute Quote
Laffy Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 This is really rushed & sloppy, but oh well. You can tell by how shit the hands are :| Quote
midnight lady Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I like it SD-great job and about the bracelet I have the patience of a 3 year old Quote
Supermodel Diva Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 @laffyyeah, well, when I'm on a break from school I draw couple of hours a day so I sometimes can finish it in a day...(but it def. looks better when I do it over a few days, maybe even a week) ^^btw. Laffy Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 @laffyyeah, well, when I'm on a break from school I draw couple of hours a day so I sometimes can finish it in a day...(but it def. looks better when I do it over a few days, maybe even a week) ^^ btw. I really like ur drawings...with what do you draw? Oh I see I usually have to take my time because I get annoyed when my work looks rushed Thanks Those ones are done with fine tipped ink pens and paint. But I usually mess around with my materials a lot. As you can see, right now I'm going through an ink phase I'll get bored of it soon though This one is kinda old: But I like it a lot Quote
NvrEnough Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 So I had seen a pendant today and thought that it would make a pretty kick ass knot design. It was pretty simple as it was but something about it caught my eye. I sketched it first. Sorry the pics suck, they are small and my phone doesn't focus well. So I jotted down an idea of how to draw it out differently. I wasn't impressed with my first attempt so I didn't persue it farther. The next one showed some promise and the cross-overs worked, which always helps with clutter. Still wasn't perfect and the proportions were off. A quick flip through some reference material and I found an "A" from the book of Kells that seemed to leap off the page for this little thing. I changed it a bit and incorporated it to see how it worked. Enjoy, I did. It was a productive 90 minutes I think. I liked how it was coming together so I redrew it, cleaned it up a bit and started to thicken the lines. It definitely needs double thick lines. I was pleased at it to that point so I decided it would look much better if I inked it. 2 problems, the paper sucks and I'm fresh out of Higgins Black. Crap. The only felt pens I had were caligraphy pens and they just won't do. Next best thing, a colored, fine tip sharpie. Even that was WAY to fat. It's all I have until I can transfer it over to better paper and pick up some more actual ink. Either way here's the final sketch. Quote
midnight lady Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 nice works @laffyyeah, well, when I'm on a break from school I draw couple of hours a day so I sometimes can finish it in a day...(but it def. looks better when I do it over a few days, maybe even a week) ^^ btw.
