how the hell can they not cast her in the show...when she looks better than most of the girls they picked.

Im thinking, Shanina and Kelly Gale have a similar exotic look. So maybe the Vs people decided to give Kelly a try, since she's never done the show, and to let Shanina skip in for one year, since she's already been twice?. Idk, just trying to think like VS, but there could be another reason which we don't know of.

Sooo bad she didn't make it

Last year she looked so beautiful , very dissepointing.. Anybody knows why?

Because i've read on the Barbara P. tread that her body wasn't good enough or something :S biggest bullshit !! Shanina is perfect.

I'm sure her body wasn't the problem. She is more fit than ever now, and she's already made it twice to the show, so...maybe it's Seth else.

This is a really good point.  Even if there is another reason Shanina wasn't selected this would be reason enough.  It's too bad though because I thought she looked really beautiful last year.

I honestly don't get it. She looks better than ever and the whole 'room for new girls' thing just doesn't make sense to me..if that was the case wouldn't they stop using Iza Goulart or something?

I also can't see needing room for the new girls as a reason for Shanina not making it. I guess it's always possible that she didn't do well at castings? I am not really familiar with her walk, so I can't speculate if that is the reason, but would you guys say she has a good strong walk? The reason why I ask is because I thought she looked stunning last year, so I am pretty surprised she didn't make it this year.

I always thought her walk was good. It looked good last year, and I know she has some experience with HF runway as well: she's done Jason Wu, Nanette Lepore, etc. Not an HF queen, however.

 

I think it's more that VS likes to give themselves street cred by getting girls who are HF regulars or 'it girls,' either editorially or during fashion weeks. I guess objectively it makes some sense that they would have faith in those girls on the runway. They only leave so much room for mainly print models, and I think the only open spot there got snagged by Sara this year. I think that is why Irina still hasn't made it and part of why Barbara Palvin didn't make it as well.

Agreed I think its becoming like a divided line of girls VS works with, you got the girls( the more commercial models) who mainly do the catalogs, commercials, and sometimes even launches but rarily seem to make it to the show and then you got the girls ( the more HF models) they barily work with who usually make the show.

^^Yep, I mean Gracie was in Paris for the commercial and frequently shoots with them; Barbara is the cover of their holiday catalogue and all over their website, yet I don't think either of them made it to the fashion show. I'm not sure if Toni is in either. And they did the same with Sara last year. I know the VSFS isn't about moving product like print work is, so again, I get it. But it's kind of sad that the girls doing the work all year don't get that big publicity at the end. 

 

Anyway, I know Shanina had a casting at DVF yesterday, so I hope it went well!

I am SO disappointed she won't be in the VS show this year. She is SO lovely and VS is completely cruel to not cast her. Their loss.

 

I actually got the pleasure to meet her and she is VERY striking in person. She was about to work out so it was very sweet of her to take the time to take a picture with me!
