F 4 5 H U N Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Used to be smitten with her but she's gone soooo Hollywood to my growing disbelief that she was the last person I expected to let success get to her Anyone else think that she has turned into a shittier version of Gwyneth Paltrow? Quote
Schemer Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 In what way? GP doesn't have a fraction of JLaw's acting skills. Quote
Clauds Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I don't see what you mean at all o.o, if anything I admire Jennifer because after the succees she's had she's still the same goofy careless woman. If anything she is more protective about her private life but that is completely normal. Other than that I don't think she's changed at all Quote
Limerlight Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 As long as she still looks good the rest is meh to me. Quote

katchitup Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 It's hard for me. On one hand I like this "realness" she has, but on another hand it seems like shes going overboard. Every interview I see her in shes just blurting out stuff loud and screaming out swear words and trying to be funny. And I think she is a genuinely kind hearted person (look at all these trips she does on the DL to these hospitals, and all this awesome charity work she does) and truly cares about people and her fans, but she needs to compose herself a bit. I literally cringed when she was on stage with Amy Schumer. And her red carpet looks age her SO much. Sick of her partnership with Dior. None of her looks match her personality. I DO like the GG after party look. Thats more like it Quote

I mean, not saying that privately she's bad person or anything like that but at this point it's clear that it's calculated part of her image. Quote

She's pointed out all the things that she's doing that are supposed to "make people like her" according to execs and stylists, so we're getting pretty meta here. It's the same stuff that all celebrities do. The "down to earth" vibe has worked for her, so yeah she has probably started playing it up as part of an image in recent years. But her personality has been consistent since the first day she landed on the scene, and there are lots of aspects of it that can't be faked (wit, intelligence, understanding of film, ability to think critically and articulate it in a non-pretentious way).
