If George wants to return, that's fine, of course. It could turn out good or bad, no way to be sure.

I don't understand the narrative that Star Wars was perfect with George and Disney ruined it. My understanding of how Star Wars fans talked about EP 1-3 (especially 1) was not that George was still an amazing creative genius but something closer to the idea that he had ruined what he created.

It seems like the most devoted Star Wars fans are the ones who saw the original trilogy as kids when the movies were first released. I didn't have that experience and don't have that connection to the movies, so maybe I'm not the best to assess the situation.

@CandleVixen @Stromboli1 :bounce::bounce: (maybe it's just a crazy rumor though)

I'm totally down with that! Let Papa George oversee Lucasfilm.

Lucas is fine when he has an equal check to reign him in a little. ANH & ESB are the best movies because he actually listened to critiques of his work and got help with scripts besides not being a good director.

The Prequels had a really good story with the rise & fall of Anakin Skywalker, it just lacked in execution in major aspects. Practical effects mixed with some CGI would've been received way better. The CGI was so bad and fake looking. The Disney Trilogy had awesome special effects which felt like Star Wars besides being shot really well, that's all my praise for them. :nicole:

I don't have that connect either, but still grew up with Star Wars all my life and saw the release of Special Editions in the theater.

Is he any good in the show?

yea, he is good in the show.  His character plays someone who is trying to function in the settlement but has immense anger/rage/desire for revenge concealed underneath.  when he unravels, it's great and I can see where he got plenty of practice (pro wrestling)   I would have thought that he was a professional actor.

It's not all black and white. Star Wars was not perfect with George. Nothing is perfect. There are many things to say on the PT (particularly on Revenge of the Sith) and even on the OT (particularly Return of the jedi), but imperfect as they were, these movies were all great. They had a consistency, a spirit and they are timeless. Disney's trilogy lacks all this.

Disney's trilogy has a couple of good things, like the CGI, the visuals and some of the actors (who are really good and they're even more commendable given the bad scenario they had to work with). What's really wrong with Disney's SW is the freaking scenario. It's widely inconsistent, not just from one triology to another, not just from a ST movie to another, but within a movie!! Also, Disney's scenario has no spirit, no purpouse, no goal.

As for the directors, Disney went from a blind worshipper to a pretentious and ungrateful nihilist who despised everything that happened before him (not understanding that he was a dwarf standing on the shoulders of giants). Also, George made timeless scenarios, with subtle influence from his time, whereas Disney took the worst of our time (political BS) and introduced it into SW, which annoys many people, because when they go to the cinema, they want to forget about the discourses they hear every day.

Sure, but it can't be worse than Disney's trilogy.

I wasn't born when the OT movies were released and yet I love them and I love the universe. The argument about "childhood" is something that the access media (like CNN ) used to disqualify the critiques about the ST, claiming that all of the bad reviews were from "old world" people, while they represent the "new world" (which is supposed to be better....) I'm a millenial and I think this "new world" is inconsistent and trash. I also think that entertainment is better of when it's "relatively" free of the zeitgeist (completely free being impossible).

That would be great + with Filoni or Favreau as his lieutenants!

Awesome!

Usually the wrestlers that are good on the mic with charisma translate well into acting.

I'd take that in a heartbeat.

It would be great to get back to great storytelling with good characters with actual arcs and the world & lore building.

NO MARVEL HUMOR EITHER!

On that rumor vid, it was said that he would bring in Filoni as his second.

This cancel culture shit has to stop!

Nothing will ever please these people and will end up getting themselves cancelled.

The cancel culture allows untalented and resentful people to seize power... That's why a lot of airheads support it (particularly in the media)

This woman is a perfect example of toxic journalism...
