Oh, you've played DS3 too! :bounce: That's a great game, isn't it?

Uhhh no.

Dodge is an old skill used in the first version of the Star Wars rpg.

Embrace it, Cult. Men with grey hair are looked at as being more distinguished and worldly. And handsome.

I am pretty sure it's sexy.

Oh, I see

Dodge is very useful in DS3, but not  in Sekiro. In Sekiro, the logic is mostly parry, then counter-attack (sometimes you jump, roll or "mikiri counter" instead of parrying, but it's always this type of rhythm, whereas in DS3 you're free to choose!). You should try it, it's a beautiful game.

Have you played Jedi fallen order? It's somehow a "souls like" (though it's also a metroidvania)

Patches is also a recurrent character in the souls franchise.  Dark Souls has also inspired a lot of indie games.  The one that I like the best is one (forgot the name of it right now) is a spanish game based around Catholic horror. :

Patches is a really funny character! Patches the unbreakable, they guy that survives everything (and who is sometimes quite disingenuous).

There's a trope for characters like him. He's a bit like Tuco in the Good, the bad and the ugly. You both like and dislike them, but in the end, you always end up having a lot of empathy for them.

That's a good side story, of him being on a quest to asia to find a cure for his son.  I watched all the Bloodborne and DS3 videos of Vaati.  I saw some of the Sekiro ones too.  Sekiro is more straightforward with its lore and there are less inscrutable puzzles.  I want to revisit Witcher 3, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro some time later.

IIRC Onion Knight was in Dark Souls 1.  They should have more characters like him.  There is also a side story that involves a pair of knight lovers.  And another one where you have to become a "spouse" and do a special ceremony.

Vaati's DS3 and Sekiro lore videos are excellent and summarize the research done by him and the reddit community.  It's otherwise hard for players to pick up on all these hidden details on their first playthrough.

Interesting. The game is very rich in terms of weapons, character building and maps, but there isn't enoguh NPCs and side stories. I wish there were more.

And I wish other games (that are called "souls like") would have the rich gameplay DS3 has.

For example, Jedi fallen order has a fairly big story / universe, but it's so poor in terms of weapons, character building or force powers. It has no replay value, because the character/equipment progression is so linear, what's the point of exploring? (the best thing you can find is skins for the ponchos  or lightsaber... not very interesting)

I love how the MSM isn't talking about how the House Managers altered evidence in the impeachment trial.

Will they be held accountable, NO!

Who are these two?

They look like they come from a US sitcom in the 90s. :idk: (they just need dental braces for the cliché to be complete...)

Eric Swalwell & Fang Fang

Swalwell was banging a Chinese spy. He's still on the House Intel Committee and didn't resign his House of Representative position.
