No actual side effects here either, but my arm is killing me

Hubs had the same thing. Here’s to that being the only side effect you get!

I’m so sorry, @matt! It sucks to loose a parent via illness that way.

Thank you, and everyone else for your kind words and support.

The arm is still attached, soreness is almost gone, and feeling better already. However I'm noticing some fever-type side effects today, but they're really mild..weird..:c025:

Lol @ the animation!

Hubs had flu like symptoms two days after the shot. He was better by the next afternoon.

My brother keeps masks with him any time he’s out and about. He said that he still wears masks and since he started 19 months ago, he’s had almost no allergy type or flu occurring.

Yeah, the masks are very helpful for preventing the transmission of diseases in general and allergies.   Especially if you ride public transportation.

2019 Russian movie about the Rzhev meatgrinder.  A very controversial series of battles, it is still unknown if 1 or 2 million soldiers were killed/missing/injured.

I hear you on that!

I don't get "summer" people. There is nothing good about being hot all the time, or not being able to cool off at night unless you have a fan/ac going.

I like 75 degrees but this is not good for swimming.

It's been around 90 these past few 3 weeks and humid.

Good for swimming though.

Surprised that a woman that I haven't seen in over 12 years (she is 40 now) remembers my name and asked about me.  I forgot her name, and I only knew her as the secretary of a dental office that I probably only visited 3 times.

Better buy up all the Slave Is before the name gets changed officially because it's offensive.

What about Slave Leia costumes for Halloween? :nicole:

@Enrico_sw  I am listening to

Nietzsche and Buddhism: A Study in Nihilism and Ironic Affinities

Robert G. Morrison

It reminds me of our conversation, this book/course is very good and he picks up a lot of hard-to uncover aspects.  What I did not know was that an important pillar of his philosophy was his contempt for darwinism/social darwinism.  He agrees with the science but sees that falling into the "pursuit of happiness" and "base animal instincts" as not being the right path, but a degeneration.  I agree with this of course.  Previously I made the mistake of assuming that he was accepting of darwinism and the evils that it can cause.

Instead he worships the genius/great man, a trait shared by fascism and libertarianism:

"

Nietzsche wrote "A people is a detour of nature to get to six or seven great men""

However he differs entirely from them in that his definition of the "great man" is the superman, and not the idealistic man of the fascists or the creative/productive achiever of the libertarian.  This sort of fetishism has its grave dangers..

The pdf for the paper is online

I think it is also interesting that Nietzche sees darwinism as not promoting the "fittest" but the adaptable and mediocre.  He also sees egalitarianism as degenerate, promoting the mediocre and the common.

So the self-overcoming "Superman" is actually an individualist/egoist and takes risks to achieve things that separate him/herself from the herd and frequently dies/fails/doesn't reproduce as a consequence.   It is this latter part, the lack of Darwinian fitness of the Superman that I missed in prior studies.

So in this philosophy this person raises his level of humanity above that of the human animal who seeks mainly to survive and reproduce.  I think Richard Dawkins would classify this as a different form of memetic reproduction, as in terms of contribution to human cultural evolution.

Basically Disney & Lucasfilm since George Star Wars, now it's run by SJW freaks with agendas that aren't even fans.
