Cosby is an American icon, now tarnished.  I grew up watching his show and reruns were on all the time.

I know his show, I've watched it and liked it. He is a funny guy. But he's also been condemned for rape. Some people have dark facets.

Prior to the sex scandal, he already had a bad reputation among today's blacks as being a hypocrite, self-serving moral authority and also speaking out against black culture/ being pro-police.

How is it bad to be pro-police??? The police protects the population, and particularly the little guys (I know the big guys at CNN don't give a shit, but it's because they have private security). :banghead:

And why do they link "being pro-police" with "being against black culture"??? That's crazy. The police protects every citizen.

The US ideology makes NO SENSE to me. In France, our ideology doesn't care about people's color (and it will stay that way unless the US ideology invade us). :tumbleweed:

Let me summarize my previous post: the Woke ideology that comes for North America is racist, divisive and dumb as f***.

This shit had better stay out of our country :ninja:

@Enrico_sw  I am listening to

Nietzsche and Buddhism: A Study in Nihilism and Ironic Affinities

Robert G. Morrison

It reminds me of our conversation, this book/course is very good and he picks up a lot of hard-to uncover aspects.  What I did not know was that an important pillar of his philosophy was his contempt for darwinism/social darwinism.  He agrees with the science but sees that falling into the "pursuit of happiness" and "base animal instincts" as not being the right path, but a degeneration.  I agree with this of course.  Previously I made the mistake of assuming that he was accepting of darwinism and the evils that it can cause.

It reminds me of this book:

https://livre.fnac.com/a2617267/Yannis-Constantinides-Nietzsche-l-eveille

I'm not a huge fan of social Darwinism either. It's too basic and people make it tell a lot of unproven things. It's so easy to say "oh, it's darwinism", that people stop doing basic critical thinking of their theories. It's funny because I think the North American Woke ideology and its view of "progess" is very influenced by social darwinism, which is probably part of why it's a paranoid view of the world.

Instead he worships the genius/great man, a trait shared by fascism and libertarianism:

"

Nietzsche wrote "A people is a detour of nature to get to six or seven great men""

However he differs entirely from them in that his definition of the "great man" is the superman, and not the idealistic man of the fascists or the creative/productive achiever of the libertarian.  This sort of fetishism has its grave dangers..

The concept of the Übermensch is a bit hard to understand (and I'm not sure I fully understand it either). I see it more as a road than as a goal, but it's probably my interpretation.

This Delta variant shit is annoying. Our minister started talking about a new lockdown. Screw that. I'm not going in a new lockdown. This shit (lockdowns, curfews, restrictions...) has been going on for 16 months!

I accepted the first lockdown as an "emergency measure", but not 16 months! The lockdown can't be the new normal.

Yep, they're nuts.

(ce qui me surprend le plus c'est que ce soit l'ONU qui propose ça... encore ce serait des mecs au bistrot, on pourrait mettre ça sur le compte de l'alcool, mais là ce sont des gens censément instruits et influents !)

It wasn't just because of Taxes that we told Britain to go fuck itself...

  1. They blockaded our ports
  2. They dissolved our legislators
  3. They dragged people in the colonies back to Britain to be tried in private military court
  4. They ripped up our colonial charters
  5. The refused to approve laws passed by colonial legislatures
  6. They use military forced to intimidate colonial legislatures in session
  7. They restricted immigration to colonies without the consent of the affected colonies
  8. They deprived colonies of the ability to elect their own judges
  9. The forced colonists to house British soldiers without the consent of the colonists or the colonies
  10. They used those soldiers as tools of enforcement of acts of Parliament against the colonies
  11. They appointed swarms of highly paid new bureaucrats without colonial consent but places responsibility for the payment of the salaries of those bureaucrats on the colonies
  12. They made judges and governors reliant on parliament rather than the colonies for the payment of their salaries
  13. They stripped colonial legislatures of their ability to impeach and remove governors
  14. They placed cities under martial law in peace time
  15. They increasingly stripped colonial legislatures of their sovereignty and power in favor of royally appointed governors
  16. They allowed British soldiers to demand uncompensated food and shelter from any colonist under the threat of punishment by the law
  17. They allowed the Royal Navy to block off colonial trade, in violation of the Navigation Acts
  18. Arbitrarily attack colonial coastal towns across the Eastern Seaboard
  19. They uses foreign mercenaries in a war against fellow citizens and subjects
  20. They directed Native Americans to indiscriminately attack any and all colonists
  21. They effectively ended the ability to have a fair trial by jury in Massachusetts
  22. They directed captured American Sailors to be treated as slaves rather than prisoners of war
  23. It was just the aristocrats making  power grab. Most Americans loved Britain

Don't let this happen again.... (Fuck you Biden/Rinos/Dems)
