The Minneapolis City Council voted 12 to 1 on Friday to place a petition on the November ballot to wipe out Minneapolis’ police force, replacing it with a department of public safety.

As previously reported by Human Events News, a new political committee called Yes 4 Minneapolis gathered signatures to put a question on the November ballot whether to give voters the authority to replace police.

The proposal asked voters if they wanted to approve a plan to replace the police department with a new public safety department focused on a “comprehensive public safety approach” that would include officers “if necessary to fulfill the department’s responsibilities.”

The plan’s advancement follows a June court order for the 435,000-person town to hire more police since it’s currently violating its charter by understaffing police, according to Just the News.

Indeed, violent crime in Minneapolis has skyrocketed over the last year. In 2020, more than 550 people were injured in shootings, a more than 100 percent increase over 2019. According to city gunshot detection data, people shot more than 24,000 rounds of ammunition in 2020.

According to city data, there were 82 homicides in 2020, making it the third worst year the city has ever seen.

Anyone who even thinks that could possibly work should be forced to have a mental health evaluation

Stock up bois. It's gonna get real dicey in Minneapolis

One of the implications of this is also how in modern "post-industrial" economies, a lot of occupations are nonessential and created out of artificial demand (from marketing/proproganda), bureaucracy (both private and public), and egotism/office cultures (creating made up jobs to make the group/bosses important), especially in white collar work.   Squads of assistants, interns etc that are actually superfluous and hired only to improve the company's image and make it look like a "real company" with underlings to boss around.  And executives/managers creating bullshit jobs and tasks just to make themselves look productive and justify their budgets.  This stuff gives me nightmares and the worst tragedy of life to me has been the too great amount of time wasted doing bullshit and seeing others go through this.   And that feeling that one is living a lie.

MJ's and Sports Illustrated has always looked like a whole ton of bullshit going on, even when the magazine was good.  Activity for the sake of activity & appearances.

Oh yes, I see exactly what you mean.

It's definitely a white collar thing. Oftentimes, those who cut useful costs (blue collared jobs) are also the ones who create useless costs.

A huge part of the money collected for "good causes" is not used for the cause itself, but to feed and spoil the people who manage the cause.

Yeah, a lot of non-profit organizations exist just to maintain that staff, while less than 10% of the income goes to the cause!

And when companies restructure they often fire the lowest income people, paid by the hr while superfluous yet high salaried office employees and middle managers are still there.

One of the biggest nightmares is the work of an analyst in various faculties.  Do ultimately meaningless intellectual labor producing long reports which are sold and most of it is not read at all, thrown in the trash.

Or those staff who spend their time making proproganda periodicals that are designed to puff up the organization's own image to its own employees and outsiders.

@Stormbringer Hey, I know you like fantasy (mostly medieval from what I understand), but have you tried final fantasy games? I haven't played many of these games, but I'm playing "FF7 remake" at the moment, and I really like it.

It's a mix of medieval fantasy (it has many of its codes), Japanese culture and the imagination of the writers (which seems to be endless) :bounce:   It has interesting themes such as environment protection, life, meaning, friendship, etc.

The art is beautiful.

This better be a fucking joke because if it's not France needs to rise up against their government like yesterday.  o.o

My guess is that Macron is desperate to declare martial law and hopes to push the French to violent riots. I wonder if this ruling will get push back from the military who have already said they will intervene to protect the public.

Steve Daines’ Niece Confirms Joe Biden Pinched Her Nipple, According To Report

Image

Joe Biden pinched the nipple of Senator Steve Daines’ niece on C-Span when she was a young child, according to her reported confirmation of the pinch, which occurred on January 3, 2015 at her uncle’s swearing-in ceremony when she was eight years old.

Citizen journalist Jonathan Pasetti has the image of his journalistic conversation with the young woman, Maria Piacesi, on Tik Tok. Piacesi has since deleted the comments, but they have since been archived and began going viral earlier this week.

I am just tired of these idiots. I can't deal anymore with their mediocrity, stupidity and lies.

My sister is against the vaccine, and she won't get it, neither her daughters and husband.

She canceled her vacation to the Netherlands and Disneyland Paris because

she is taking responsibility of her choices.

Les années 90 c'étaient cool.

Les Français.

I'm surprised that Anti-Vax is in France.  I don't know how you can reach out to her sister's family if she won't listen to research, reasoning, etc.

I thought only Alt-righters/MAGA and eccentrics were into that.  In the US, and in NY/NJ the focus now is on getting the rest of the population vaccinated, many of which are anti-vax.
