Cult Icon Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Ghost of Tsushima was a big success, had a great & moving story with a good main character (Jin) with massive potential for a sequel. But the developers opted to drop Jin's story and create a new one with a gender-fluid woman as the lead (and taking place hundreds of years later). This is quite baffling, as baffling as what they did for Joker 2. Jin's story was actually very good and the whole narrative was pointed towards his future as a Ronin and a fugitive to be developed for GOT 2. It is always weird when creatives stop doing what was successful and then go the woke route which a big part of their fanbase despises, and then the franchise ends up ruined. It's almost like they are getting forced to do this by gunpoint. Quote

To less Galadriel/Sauron drama? 🤣 I mean their confrontation/fight was great but to me it was like the whole 2nd season + promo was built on their final (and only) scene together so it all felt a bit short and rushed when it finally happened. Even though I loved that he could've easily killed her.... Spoiler ... but obviously didn't. Their "connection" or whatever still fascinates me. Spoiler I see you. The choreography of the fight was great. Those little details. Chefs kiss. Spoiler He knows my mind. And I know his. To less Galadriel alltogether (not only in the finale). Spoiler Still not sure about the whole Gandalf thing. But yeah Annatar/Sauron/and the glimpse of unwashed + washed Halbrand rocked this season. I still can't believe HOW GOOD CHARLIE VICKERS was and how different from season 1. His portrayl is nearly perfection for me so far and him and Celebrimbor carried everything. bonus 💔 (I can't believe that scene was partially improvised and I can't believe he made me sympathize with Sauron yet again after everything he did!!!) Also hats off to Charles Edwards. He broke my heart. I really hope both of them will get some emmy love. But mostly disappointed we now have to wait -for what- 2(????) more years for season 3 Can't wait to see what happens next and what forms Sauron is going for to reach his dark lord plans Quote
Cult Icon Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 things are looking good for the long dead Silent Hill franchise- the remake SH2 has been raved by fans. now they just have to remake SH3 and maybe some day there will be another feature film. Quote
Cult Icon Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Liver King seems to have been shadowbanned by youtube. So his gimmick only lasted about 1+ years. His recent videos only have a few thousand views but he has 1.21 million subs.. Liver King - YouTube Quote

Cult Icon Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 This youtuber is one of the most funny personalities I've ever seen on the platform. I think he is half-a comedian/half for real. Goatis - YouTube He is half insane, half-lucid. Some of the stuff he says is correct & the third eye but the stuff about nutrition is insane. His content tearing apart bodybuilders and lost people are good, the rest is insane. I like how his advice to most problems in life is to "eat raw meat, eat animal organs, and drink blood.." lol. Cult Icon Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 I am starting to watch Silent Hill 2 Remake. It is a very devastating game with a unique atmosphere and a really good story & characters. I now understand better why it was often called a work of art & my ol' high school-middle school friends raved about it. I only played Silent Hill 3 which was amazing but relied more on visual horror. Silent Hill 2 is more psychological and the whole setting of a fog-infested Maine town is literally what I experienced driving through Maine several times. The state is often coated with this insane fog that makes driving pretty hazardous if it wasn't for the sparse traffic. So many small towns look straight from horror films and this game. Quote
Jade Bahr Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 I really wonder what's happening here and why everyone is hating this movie so much. I really have to watch it 🤣 @Lilja K @Matt! @Cult Icon ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Drops Record 81% in Second Weekend ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ has had the worst second weekend decline for any “comic book” movie ever. The film earned $7M this weekend, that’s a miserable 81% drop. It’s only made $51M domestically since its release. In fact, that drop is worse than ”The Marvels,” worse than “Morbius,” and even worse than the infamous “Halloween Ends” decline. What do all four of these films, including ‘Joker 2,’ have in common? Well, they’re just not good. Quality sometimes matters. ‘Joker 2’ earned the same in its second domestic weekend as ‘Beetlejuice 2’ did in its sixth domestic weekend, and ‘Beetlejuice 2’ is already readily available to rent on VOD. This all makes me wonder how soon ‘Joker 2’ will be sent to VOD? I would bet as early as the next Monday. Just to keep track, that’s $51M domestically for ‘Folie à Deux’. Its estimated international total stands at $113.7M, and estimated global total stands at $165.3M. The budget for ‘Folie à Deux’ is said to have been $190M. Hard losses are coming for Warner Bros. I really have to watch it 🤣 @Lilja K @Matt! @Cult Icon ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Drops Record 81% in Second Weekend the previous film grossed over $1 billion & the director, lady gaga, & phoenix were given 8-figure salaries for the sequel. It seems like this will the final film given what I've read about the ending. Besides being disliked by people who saw it but the premise & ending goes against what is established in the comic book universe. The relationship between Harley Quinn & Joker is meant to be dominated by the Joker. The Joker never plays second fiddle nor does he ever really 'listen' to Harley. Harley is a totally enthralled follower, and obsessed with him. She does break up with him from time to time but always manages to relapse some how, and her break ups tend to intwine her with the Batman, which she has sexual tension with. There are scenarios from comic book writers where the Joker does revert back to his old identity though. I think the mainstream audiences don't know that. From what I gather the ending of Joker 2 is kind of a response to the controversy of Joker 1 in which critics were complaining that the film was glorifying lone-wolf violence & acts of terror. So it is a cop-out in a sense, and self- protective of the filmmakers. Quote
