Adrianas Llama Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 lol the important thing to remember, female models may be eye candy for men, but they are essentially targeted at women. Women are the market they are selling to. So in a sense they have to be attractive to both men and women, and i think that might be one reason why girls are more interested in them then male models because male models may be something hot you flick past in a magazine but they arent targeted at us. And whilst male models are aimed at men i dont see many men (unless they are extremely comfy with there sexuality) actually becoming fans. and just god damn.. hotness Quote
adriana_isabeli Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 ok i hope this doesnt offend anyone, b/c i happen to like some male fashion models...but in general i think that people may see them as coming off as somewhat "feminine," which can be unappealing to a lot of women. another thing, women are "allowed" to look at other women and say "oh she's hot" and no one will think she's gay automatically...so u have both men AND women looking at female fashion models. on the other hand, guys arent really "allowed" to look at male models and say oh he's handsome or whatever because lots of people will just assume that he's gay even if thats the farthest thing from the truth. and if we want to get uber-feminist for a moment, women have always been LOOKED at and objectified and their looks highly valued above all else (i'm not saying every individual person does this, just saying its a general pattern in our culture thats hard to deny)...and oftentimes, they are objectified not just by men, but even more frighteningly by women as well...hell...sometimes i think women (in general) actually enjoy sitting around and criticizing other women on their appearances...we seem to be taught that looks are important and it manifests itself in the manner in which we buy fashion magazines, critize what women wear, look like, etc...i'm sorta rambling, but what i'm basically saying is that it's not just ONE thing, but a lot of it has to do with the difference in which men and women are raised, whats considered socially acceptable for each group, etc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well said Quote
GOCHO Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 admit it... deep inside you're all lesbians Quote

worshipper pa Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 Lesbians are NOT cool! I would like to hear your arguments for this claim. As far as I have understood being a lesbian does not correlate at all with being not cool. Quote
schadenfreude Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 That is exactly the problem.Everyone thinks it's cool. The media and everywhere else keep potraying it as cool.Every teenage comedy usually features some lesbian scenes. My friends keep telling me the same shit over and over again. In most blogs/LJ/Myspace 15 year old girls write "I love kissing girls. Am I a dyke? I don't know, that's just the way I am."A recent survey shows that more women are experimenting with homosexual relationships. EVERY freaking idiotic female kiss another girl and proclaim "That's just the way I am."When the truth is they are all moronic herd conformists!T.A.T.U. does it to sell music, while they do it to impress stupid boys!People who think that lesbians are cool are encouraging the lesbian fad, thus indirectly making fun of people who are really lesbians.THIS IS BULLCRAP!!!!!!!!
