Most of the newly signed girls received a one year contract, whether they get the typical three year extension next year isn't known yet.

I believe the norm is a three year contract, but Romee has said that she has a one year contract, so I suspect the ten new Angels (minus maybe Elsa) have a "trial" contract and I have a feeling Chanel might have gotten the same thing a few year back.

I think some of the newer girls will get the three year contract (the ones that have proven to be popular with the public already) and they'll hand out one year ones again to some of the others.

For some reason I was thinking it was only 1 year, but when I googled, sites said she signed in 2009/2010 and left in 2012.

Any link to an interview? It makes sense that they're so much cause it seems to be a trial and error kind of thing from my understanding. Guess we'll wait out till 2016 to see where everyone is.

I can imagine Elsa and Lais having 3 year contracts, given that they've both been working for the company since 2010.

I still can't get my head around Jojo not getting one of the new angel contracts. As far as her work for VS goes I'd have put her at least ahead of Jac, Romee, Stella and maybe Taylor until recently, and miles ahead of Kate! I just don't get it!

I am almost positive that Elsa got a different contract than the the other nine, and was offered it before them. IMG updated Elsa's profile, stating that she had received an Angel contract back in Oct/Nov (I can't remember exactly but it was before the VSFS) and then it was edited back out a few months later. If I'm remembering correctly, the other girls found out around February of this year?

As for Lais, I'd hope she got a longer contract, but VS took their sweet time giving her one, and I feel like they wouldn't be that inclined to give her special treatment.

I agree. Elsa most likely had a different contract. 3 years perhaps? I just wonder If the girls who were in the VSFS credits got a different type of contract as well. Probably not though. It will be interesting to see how many and which girls they will drop next year. I also believe the next contracts will be way more lucrative, these didn't even reached $1M.

I love her. She's a little sex kitten. And her mix of. British and NZ accent comes out. That's the most I've heard her speak.

 

I don't hear the British (presumably English?) accent to be honest, she sounds more Antipodean and American.

 

Stella says she's from the UK, but apparently she was born and raised in Belgium, then Australia & New Zealand. Her parents are from Northern Ireland, so if anything she would have an Northern Irish accent and I can't hear that at all.

 

On the not smiling thing, I think it's as others surmised, she has been informed that she looks better in photographs when she doesn't smile. I believe that may be the same reason Victoria Beckham does not smile.

 

I posted a ways back about my thoughts on it. 

Victoria has said way way long ago that she had bad teeth growing up, and even though she's improved her dental health and got them straight and pretty, she finds it hard to smile in the public eye. 

I had the same problem and I still find it hard to smile in pictures as well. I speculated that it may be Stella's case as well.  

Just not used to smiling-teeh showing in photos.

Girls like Marisa, Izabel or Chanel were booted right after (or even before) their 3rd show when the contract should have lasted a few more months. On the other hand, girls like Karolina or Lindsay were still credited as Angels on the show after theirs ended (i.e. for a 4th show). Rosie's name stayed on VSAA for almost exactly 3 years, so did Chanel but then again Lindsay's was there for 5 and Karlie for 2.

 

Gisele was supposed to have a 5-year contract but stayed with VS for a bit longer than 6 (which, mind you, is 3x2). Laetitia Casta worked with them from 1996 to 2002 but rather seldom after 2000, whether it was because she had a 4 year initial contract or because of her pregancies, I don't know.

 

And then there's Inés Rivero who was supposedly an Angel but only really worked with VS heavily for like a year (1998-1999) and wasn't amongst the contract girls in Cannes in 2000 (although she took part in the show).

I'm new to Bellazon but I can give you guys some tea because my cousin works for L Brands in a financial capacity (where they really decide if an angel is going to stay or go). At the end of 2011 he told me that Angels would start dropping like flies and between then and now he was right. I can't say for certain how true this tea is but he's always been right.

 

1. All the new angels have 1 year contracts (even Elsa) but she signed hers first so she would be up for renewal quite soon. They are nowhere near as lucrative as a used to be.

2. Contracts are now all one year extensions because it's too much of a risk to sign a girl to 3 year contract and then have her not sell well in any sector (Chanel).

3. The rumors of Lindsay resigning with VS last year were actually kind of true, she signed a contract with VS cosmetics around January 2014 for 1 year but then L Brands almost immediately decided to end the line so she was paid a nice seven figure sum (he never reveals specifics) to not do any work. She would have maybe been resigned again because she sold very well in the beauty sector.

3. Adriana and Alessandra have sweet deals that Candice might probably never get. They get paid millions for very few work days.

4. Erin's situation is a bit sad because if L Brands only dropped her because she was going the way of Doutzen. Erin and Doutzen were very popular and sold extremely well but they would have always been second tier. If Doutzen had quit in 2013 instead of 2014, Erin might still be an angel.

5. Karlie was never going to be renewed so they were happy to let her go when she wanted out.

 

This is pretty much most of the tea I know. When I see my cousin again I'll try to get more info out of him.
