DULOVEMEDO Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 ..... So does this mean there will be no audience or large venue? Not being on TV sort of defeats the purpose of wanting to do the Victoria Secret Fashion Show in the first place. VS should hire better a set designer, show coordinator, creative director, etc., that are comparable to Chanel's team. The reason why people are always excited for the next show every season is because they focus on quality set/show/fashion design and models. VS thought people would just appreciate half naked women on the runway and that would simply garner sales and views like the "supermodel golden era." Someone should do a tarot card reading on how the Victoria Secret Angels feel about the show no longer being on television. Quote

Which average Joe/Jane do you know that’s excited for Chanel shows every season? I mean I get your whole point but wrong example. Also, the concept of half naked women walking in lingerie on tv was still kinda fresh and new during the golden era and yes the company itself was better back then but it’s the fascination that’s gone. The whole idea is tired. Even if they revamped and stayed on tv it wouldn’t make that much of a difference. It took them forever to realize this but hey, better late than never. I’m sure they’ll venture into streaming which is on par with the times more than anything. Quote

Jack Shaftoe Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Maybe they should hire a new director for the show too while they are at it. Leaving "network television". Does that mean the show can still be on cable television? If so, not much of a change. But at least they are recognizing that there is a problem, that's good. Quote
medicenevs Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 This is interesing. I won't say my opinion till I see the outcome but *whispers* this seems like a step in the right direction. Quote
DULOVEMEDO Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Clearly....CHANEL'S AUDIENCE are always excited to see CHANEL SHOWS because it is always beautiful and different each time twice a year. It is always new and refreshing. The set designs are always beautiful and fascinating. It is literally walking into a new world. I have to be this literal for some of you because you either cannot read or comprehend. On the other hand, VS gives you recycled items/themes/etc. The average Joe does not care about Victoria Secret or the show only BZ and other "fan groups." They do not even care to see half naked women on a runway for free. Like save it. We all know you just want to reply to me. You can't help yourselves. Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don't. EDIT: Does this mean the fantasy bra will be more expensive this year now? Quote

I feel sorry for people who have to be around your crass ass and flawed logic on a regular. The fact that you don’t understand Chanel caters to the upper class 1% while VS caters to the middle/working class with a greater audience is monumental. i know VS’s failure is fundamental to you but try to contain yourself. claudiawilliams Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 people are overreacting about this lol sure, when i read it i was like ''bye vs'' but the truth is that you guys are right. it's so good they're trying new things and maybe this helps to increase the viewers and all that stuff. i hope they also listen to their fans and go back to the sexiness, but i doubt it Quote
Prettyphile Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 This part reads to me that the show might not be over, or it could evolve into something else online. (like SWIM and lingerie show that ppl have been asking for) .... Quote In an internal memo sent Friday to employees, L Brands Chairman and Chief Executive Les Wexner said he has "decided to re-think the traditional Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Going forward we don't believe network television is the right fit." He said the company would focus this year on developing content and a new kind of event "in ways that will push the boundaries of fashion in the global digital age." The show was webcast before moving to network television. Quote
Prettyphile Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I like Leomie, my only complaint is that if she doesn't stop with the abs I fear we'll another #AbsByIza and that just isn't attractive for me. Quote
Clauds Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 So after like a billion years of everyone on BZ saying that VS needed to move on from television to streaming they finally listened? This could be either really good or really bad, I hope they go with Netflix or something along those lines. I'm sure they'll still have a show, I just hope the social media aim doesn't mean it'll get even more childish, I'm hoping this will give them the opportunity to re-launch the show and go more risque again without CBS having to blurr butts all the time. claudiawilliams Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 i like leomie's catwalk outside vs, what i hate about her is her ''diva'' attitude like stop pretending you're naomi campbell or something Quote
