I think Carmen should stop smoking.

But now she just looks gaunt and ill,

It is pretty sad. She seems to be aging beyond where she should be. She's only 27! I don't know if cigs are the whole deal. Maybe stress. Maybe the strain of having run for political office? ;-) Maybe she is playing too much chess? Maybe she is a smart woman stuck in a job where looks are everything? Speculation.
