Joe > Average Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 WHO? ^ I agree.I never heard of her...or seen her.... She's been big in latin music for years, but hasn't had the crossover American mainstreem success of some others of her genre. It seems American mainstreem is the bridge of worlds so to speak in that you can be king or queen of the world in some places and not known much in others whereas B-list American artists are known all over the world. I had never heard of Cheryl Cole before Bellazon and despite Johny Depp's popularity had never heard of Vanessa Pardis in my life before Bellazon . So I guess 8 times out of 10 without the American mainsteem someone big in Mexico isn't likely to be that well known to someone on the other side of the world and someone in France, Italy, Spain ect. likewise. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Probably the best hair in music, cute for a singer, no Marc Anthony chops wise but definitely an above average voice (thus by default one of the best here...). Love her live ballads (pleasant, respectable pitch and decent breath control) and also knows how to spice it up uptemtpo, love a lot of her songs and I love, love, love latin music . North America, 2.5-3 . But 5 since she's such an underdog . Quote
donbot Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Probably the best hair in music La Roux wants a word with you Quote
dawson Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 We vote beauty or work here? I personally vote for beauty XD Quote
Chocolate Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 We vote beauty or work here? Final vote should be combination of her looks, talent, personality, likeability... I wrote that earlier Quote
nathalà = Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 which novela did you see her choc? the three novelas where she plays marias(mercedes, marimar, and do bairro)aired here.i used to love her looks in those when i was a kid(so fancy).i actually bought a cd of hers(the one with maria do bairro song),and still listen to it once in a while.so for some good songs and some beauty, and for her tragic history that could be a novela itself, and also because she`s cuteSA 2,9ps:have you ever seen a usurpadora, chocolate? if don`t,watch it! has aired about five times here and is probably my favorite mexican novel in my childhood.awsome clhothes and hair as well.the first actress is gabriella spanic. Chocolate Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 I can't remember Nathali, it was a long long time ago. I even can't remember what was a story about, coz they are all the same Some poor girl and some rich guy fall in love and they always have million problems which they fight in 100 episodes But, believed or not, I watched La usurpadora with Gabriela Spanic That was a million years ago too! I liked Gabriela a lot at that time, she was so cute. Later I saw her in some other telenovela and she changed a lot Btw, I loved Brazilian O Clone very much! Quote
nathalà = Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 oh,nooo, chocolate!not o clone...that was actually the first novela when i noticed the stories are all the same,in this one specifically.it was so annoying jade not decinding between saidi and the other guy.(forgot his name).and where they got so much money to travel that much between morocco and brazil?!this was the novela that broke my heart(tragic soundtrack playing),and i was never the same and could never watch any novela again.the end.ps:ifor brazilians,i like from the old times,laços de famÃlia and mulheres apaixonadas. Clauds Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 WHAAAT?! Nathali you just touched a very sensitve part of me i LOVED O Clone i've seen it like 3 times, not kidding ... I actually loved the fact that Jade wasn't the typical stupid poor girl who saves her virginity&love for her man who is a millionare (who "cheated" her with the bad woman) until the end of the show & then get pregnant & live happily ever after with a big stupid kiss at the wedding being the last scene. I think it was different from all other story on tv. For the fist time the girl had a brain! Jade had a strong personality & she always did the best for her & then for her daughter. BTW, they didn't travel that much, they filmed ALL the scenes in Morocco in 40 days & the rest was done in Brazil The new mexican/colombian/american version should die, it sucks sucks sucks Resume, IMO O Clone is the best novela ever But overall i used to like brazilian novelas a lot, Xica Da Silva, Laços de famÃlia & Por Amore Quote
Chocolate Posted July 25, 2010 Author Posted July 25, 2010 @ Nathali and Miss Lima... and you could learn so much about Muslim religion and customs in O Clone, things that I didn't know at all before. Quote
