CATCH UP WITH THE MEGA MODEL BELOWWhere did you grow up, and where do you live now? STELLA MAXWELL I grew up in New Zealand and now I split my time between LA and NYC. How did you and Miley and Cheyne meet?SM We met through Grindr... Nah, joking. We met through mutual friends via Instagram, which is where Cheyne contacted me about taking some photos. It's been a trip to hang out and see a little of their world. Felt very organic and right. Was it friendship at first sight? SM Obvs. How was your recent trip to Vegas?SM It was awesome and chill. I was excited because it was my first time seeing this city. Growing up you hear about Las Vegas but it's hard to apply a feeling or smell or taste to a place until you experience it for yourself. We had a lot of fun. It was a quick trip though. We were just coming from an amazing visit to Austin, Texas for SXSW, so we were a bit tired. But really the quick stop over was super cool. Did you guys have to hide from the paparazzi at all while you were there?SM I didn't think about it, so I don't know. I didn't really see many to be honest. Maybe they were hiding from us. How does one find out she’s become a new Victoria’s Secret Angel? Like, did you get an email, or did a dove fly to your window with a sealed envelope?SM [laughs] Well, it actually was a pretty special moment. My agent Ali Kavoussi at The Lions, he himself is an angel, and he called me and told me, "Babe I got some news for you!" Was there a surprise party?SM It's really cool. They actually rent out the entire Disneyland Theme Park in California for an entire night so you can invite all of your closest friends to just hang. It's so amazing. No lines and all the rides are open. Ha! Just joking. Do all the Angels get along?SM Of course. VS is a family. Everyone loves each other. Do you have a best friend?SM Where would we be without our friends? Honestly, every friend is so unique and special. I have my friends back in New Zealand, I have my friends in New York and California. Then you have your friends who are your family. Barbara Palvin falls into that category. I have a lot of love for all my friends. Do you have a significant other?SM Define significant... What is your favorite shoot you’ve ever been involved in?SM Every shoot's cool and a new experience, so I try to absorb everything and everyone I can. Shooting this with Cheyne was especially cool because he came over and basically hung out in my apartment in Chinatown in NYC. It was intimate and personal and I think the photos he took captured that. What about fashion shows?SM The VS show was such a big show for me and my career. It was really cool to be involved. It's kind of wild to check out the scene. Walking Marc Jacobs was pretty cool, too. And I always love walking for Jeremy Scott. Just fun. What’s something surprising about you that your fans might not know yet?SM I'm actually a hologram. Just trolling your Instagram… You’re a Kate Bush fan? What else are you listening to lately?SM Trolling is dangerous and can make for a lot of assumptions... Listening to lately? Well, I just saw Kate Tempest in Austin a couple of times and she blew my mind. I got to check out a lot of cool young bands on Burger Records like White Fang and The Babes and they're super cool, too. I listen to a lot of minimal electronic music though. Thats my main jam. And of course I love Miley and Rihanna, OBV. Do you read or respond to the comments on your social media?SM Do you? This shoot really shows your range. Ever think about pursuing acting?SM I like to keep busy and pursue lots of different projects, never saying never. There are so many options out there, which is a beautiful thing. Open to all. Quote
