Monkey Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Adriana Lima. Duh. No shit. Seriously. I voted for Monroe, by the way. Quote
incessant Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 good topic. hard to compare. i think it should be done by decade, at least initially, because every decade has shifting standards of beauty.for example, have you *seen* any pictures of marilyn recently? and compared her to gisele/adriana/alessandra or even marisa miller or jessica alba.... marilyn is huge! downright chubby and big-boned. but in her time she was hot, the hottest.see what i mean? so how can we compare. apples and oranges as they say.marilyn did have a vulnerability thought that was very impressive, very sensual.other women that i think she be on the shortlist are, off the top of my head:- rita hayworth- kate moss- gisele- *not* pam, she is gross- jacqueline bisset (have you seen her in The Deep?)- cindy crawford- grace kelly- catherine deneuve- jane fonda (okay, no, but i really like her)- bo derek- elizabeth taylor (maybe?)- ava grdner- anita eckberg (?)- i also love virginie ledoyen, so beautiful- i also love jessica alba, but who doesn't?ultimately, though, i think the prize should go to brigitte bardot Quote

Qball Posted November 20, 2005 Author Posted November 20, 2005 - i also love jessica alba, but who doesn't? I don't! I'm different Thanks, I took your thoughts into consideration. Quote
moiselles Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I would definitely say that Angelina Jolie deserves a spot on that list. Quote
moiselles Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Anyway, out of this list, I would say either Bridget or Marilyn. I'll go with Marilyn, she's such a sex symbol, and she's a cousin of mine. Quote
adriana_isabeli Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 mm Well out of these.....I choose Sophia Loren Quote
incessant Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 i was thinking more about this more, and i think aside from a breakdown by decade, that there really should be two categories: sexiest/hottest, and most beautiful.for example, i realized i completely neglected to mention audrey hepburn and ingrid bergman, two really beautiful women from the past century, and that is because they aren't often considered "hot" or "sexy", just because they are so classy and elegant, etc. but i mentioned grace kelly, who is from a similar mold.audrey and grace aren't often considered "hot" b/c it is harder to objectifty them (i think) -- they were so damn elegant --- whereas marilyn was always making herself out to be a sex kitten, sultry and vulnerable and ready for seduction.but can't you imagine grace kelly naked and in bed and ready to please? that is hot too! she just didn't do it in her public life.so is this a totally separte category? for example, natalie portman and winona ryder, so beautiful. but also sort of "classier". shouldn't they be included somehow in this conversation. okay maybe not winona, she sort of disappeared, but natalie is a screen beauty of the 90s and 00s for sure.i always thought of virginie ledoyen in that category, until i saw one of her movies where she hooks up with two guys, they tie her down and take off her clothes and blindfold her and fuck her (implied) --- hot! so now i see her as a hot girl, not just in the "classy" category.any thoughts on this? i think the best would be two categories per decade, and probably only starting in the 40s, b/c before that "sexy" women were soooo way different (clara bow, for example, weird!).oh yeah, and the fun part would be too add a third category: underated. that is where we all throw in our obscure favorites. like jacqueline bisset. for a while in the 70s she was considered the hottest ever... and then her reputation sort of fizzled.(i think newsweek called her the hottest film actress ever after the deep; i thought she was one of the most beautiful girls i have ever seen in bullit, even though her part was small.)another obscure favorite of mine, jacqueline smith. loved her! a friend suggested kelly lebrook. hmm....who else? I also think that 'hot' and 'beautiful' are two different things...Maybe we should wait until OriginalSin adds her two cents here, because she started a thread on classic beauties and she will know better how to carry out a poll like this. incessant Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 oh i like that term "classic beauties", describes it perfectly.so maybe something like "sexy sirens" and "classic beauties" .... even though i hate that word siren, kind of a tacky word. bombshell is another silly word.oh i just remembered two more beauties, how could i forget them! paulina porizkova, i think with jacqueline bisset, the most beautiful face i have ever seen. but what category would she be in, beauty or bombshell? hmm.and the girl from the graduate, katharine ross. stunningly beautiful! (i think she makes the movie, makes it believable. her beauty makes me believe he would go crazy and chase her like that. otherwise, would have been a dumb movie.)anyway, katharine ross -- file under obscure. Caroline Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Cindy Crawford? <_< Then it's a sin that Laetitia, Rita Hayworth, Michelle Pfeiffer and Angelina aren't here. Quote
Jimmy Changa Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Sophia is my choice as the poll sits right now. Quote
via_gra Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 and God created woman...Brigitte Bardot, though it was pretty hard to choose between Loren and Bardot, but then I've remember when I was a small girl I always wanted to look like Bardot - full lips, blond hair, etcBardot was a sex kitten - Loren was some sort of Lady-Vamp Quote
