Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 They are always gonna be a bit behind but we do get them the next day. Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 btw here is the new trailer. OMG LOOKS AMAZING! http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/videos/p00g0jpb I love River Quote
Michael* Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Alright, I'm confused, and maybe someone can help me out here. I just watched the episode "Doomsday" in which Rose supposedly dies (metaphorically?) in the sense that she's separated from the Doctor when she's saved from falling into the Void by her dad-from-another-dimension who takes her to that dimension. It was obviously supposed to be all emotional, but - er - isn't the exact point of having the TARDIS to allow the Doctor to zip right on over to that other dimension? I mean, they were already there a few episodes ago. What's the problem?Oh right, did I forget to mention spoiler alert? It's been years since I last saw that one but if memory serves, it was because the Daleks travelled to the alternate Earth through a void in time, which subsequently had to be closed in order to keep them from coming back. Something like that, anyway. Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Yes and no, crossing realities like that leaves cracks in the universe, in time itself. Those cracks will become more just cracks and the realities would merge and collapse on each other, effectively destroying them all. The Dalaks passing though is a symptom of a much bigger problem. It's all a bit timey-wimey.(oh yeah i used it!)That's my excuse for not explaining it right hah Quote
Michael* Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 My overriding memory from that episode is no more Rose = yay. The rest is a little fuzzy now. Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Lmao, I know right! Still cheer at the end of that episode! Quote
mbinebri Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Wasn't she on the show for years and years? So who do you guys think the best recent companion is? Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 She was for three. My fave is Donna and Then Martha. And Pond hahaI hate damsels in distress, Rose couldn't do a bloody thing on her own. Quote
Michael* Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Definitely Pond for me, but with Martha a close second. Not enough Freema Agyeman on TV these days, in my humble opinion. Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Freema is on law and order uk now. Needs a bigger part to be sure....but her pretty face is there! Quote
Michael* Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 ^It's an odd one, that. They always push Freema as one of the main stars of the show but from what I've seen, she's all too rarely in it. And on a side note - fresh after Matt Smith starring as Christopher Isherwood in a recent BBC drama, comes the news that Karen Gillan will be playing Jean Shrimpton in a similar production. http://entertainment.stv.tv/film/240260-do...jean-shrimpton/ Quote
TheBaronOfFratton Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 ^Nice call - Shrimpton was a doll! (And David Bailey is a hero.)My favourite companion was Leela - a scantily clad savage, her and K9 (with Tom Baker) were my Doctor Who dream-team! Quote
mbinebri Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 My fave is Donna and Then Martha. I just watched the first episode with Martha (I guess that one is long before she becomes an official companion?), and I thought she was kind of annoying. And shouldn't the companion be eye candy? Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 GrossRoseeye candy? :x I like Martha for the Doctors love interest.I prefer Donna overall. I like the women that push him around instead of following xD Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 ^Nice call - Shrimpton was a doll! (And David Bailey is a hero.)My favourite companion was Leela - a scantily clad savage, her and K9 (with Tom Baker) were my Doctor Who dream-team! The leather chick?! lmao Baron! At least you have Baker in there <_< Jelly Baby? I would have followed his crazy ass anywhere Quote
TheBaronOfFratton Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 The leather chick?! lmao Baron!^Damn straight! And, yeah, Tom Baker all the way. He's a style icon too - love the long coat and floppy hat. Plus that's how my hair goes when I grow it out! + Jelly Babies are lovely... Quote
