MattLoveModels Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 also I listened to Suck It and See once. It kinda bored me I'll give it another try If it's any consolation, it took me maybe 8-10 plays to really get into it. hmm, I don't think I ever actually really liked an album if it took that long. The most is like 6 times. After that it's usually just you convincing yourself to like it. IMO Quote
Pierre Tombale Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 ^ maybe it's just me, but from album to album the Arctic Monkeys are getting worse Quote
MattLoveModels Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 They def. wouldn't be the first band that theory applies to. The Strokes come to mind... Quote
donbot Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 Kickass live cover of Daft Punk's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger! Saw these guys earlier this year too - they can really turn it on Quote
donbot Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 New Gotye = +featuring Kimbra = Also thought this was quite cool Allbrook/Avery is a collaboration between Cam Avery from The Growl () and Nick Allbrook, the bassist from Tame Impala Quote
Michael* Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Humbug = by far and away my favourite Arctics album. Just throwing that out there. Also, First Impressions of Earth > Room On Fire. Quote
Pierre Tombale Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Humbug = by far and away my favourite Arctics album. Just throwing that out there. Also, First Impressions of Earth > Room On Fire. really? to me it has only 3 highlights, while the previous albums have more but that's just me Quote
donbot Posted July 10, 2011 Author Posted July 10, 2011 New Strokes vid... That background effect is mesmerising New Warpaint video Plus some live sessions Quote
Michael* Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 really? to me it has only 3 highlights, while the previous albums have more but that's just me I know I'm in a minority but it's most definitely my favourite. I took to the darker and more atmospheric feel straight away. For me, the only misfire on it is 'The Fire and the Thud'. Quote
Michael* Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 New Warpaint video I do believe I've found my favourite music video of this year. Quote
Michael* Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 So this kind of took me by surprise - a collaboration between Jack White and Detroit rapper Black Milk. This track and another with Jack on guitar are streaming here. Quote
Michael* Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Highly recommended listening for fans of Fever Ray or Bat for Lashes. Quote

Pretty Visitors and The Jeweller's Hands are excellent songs, no doubt, but off that album the only ones I really love maybe Dance Little Liar, too. But yeah tastes are different anyway Quote
