M--- Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I think swimming is good. It increases your endurance and lung capacity, it doesn't burden your hinges (don't know if that's the right term) and spine and builds muscles in the back which is good for your posture. The water carries a lot of the weight that's why it's manageable for heavier people as well and the cold water helps burning calories. Portuguesa Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 swimming really is the best kind of exercise. it doesnt really strain anything but its very good for you, every part of you. i used to swim a lot but i have done less and my fitness has gone down because of it.so i would love to swim as exercise. i also like to run, thankfully i dont have bad knees (knock on wood). [ Vyxen ] Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I do karate twice a week, kick-box and tai-chi. At home I do house-work, which is also great execrise. I've got a pool, but because of the cooler weather I don't use it as much; we're working on getting it heated though. I also go for walks early in the morning, if I can be stuffed getting up. Which I usually do 3 mornings a week. >.< Quote
