LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 episode: Arachnofaebia A string of murder-suicides have gone down in one neighborhood, and while Dyson and Hale investigate, who should they run into but Bo and Kenzi - the latter picking up some extra cash by posing as a medium who can cleanse the dark spirits from the houses. Kenzi picks up a secret passenger: A spider sneaks into her purse and wastes no time sinking its fangs into her. Later at the pub, Hale and Kenzi watch Bo try to negotiate between Dyson and Lauren as both vie for her attention. Kenzi bows out of the party due to a splitting headache, and by the time Bo gets home, Kenzi is hearing voices and thinking everybody's out to get her. The spider that caused these symptoms has escaped the confines of the purse, and it soon finds Bo and releases the same venom into her. The two roommates are flooded with feelings of paranoia and violence, but have no idea why. They go to see Lauren for some medical relief, but the only advice she can offer is to take some aspirin and head to bed. Dyson and Hale find unusual spider webs at all of the crime scenes and take the evidence to Lauren, though begrudgingly - her humanity and close relationship to The Ash make her suspect, in their book. She discovers that the webs belong to an Under Fae called a Djieiene, a spider whose venom produces mania and violence in its victims. Dyson realizes Bo and Kenzi have the bite, and sends Hale, with his powers of soothing and seduction, to rescue them. But Hale isn't prepared for the fever these ladies are under. No sooner does he enter the house but Bo knocks him out cold. She can't keep her succubus powers at bay and begins sucking the life out of Hale, but the healing it produces in her snaps her awake and she stops herself before she finishes him off. Coming to her senses, she calls Dyson as she realizes the house is under quarantine, and Dyson realizes that Lauren and The Ash are responsible for this possibly deadly decision. Dyson tells her to break the thrall that Kenzi - and now Hale - are under by killing the spider, but the creature proves indestructible. Turns out the wee beast implants its heart in a much larger host - in this case, an Under Fae collector aligned with the Dark Fae - and only destroying the heart can end the spell. Lauren wastes no time finding the collector and the implanted heart. In an impromptu and half-magical surgery, she removes the spider's hear from the man's innards and destroys it just in time to save Bo from being murdered by Kenzi. The quarantine is called off and Bo is wildly grateful for Lauren's efforts, making Dyson crazy with jealousy and distrust. Quote
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 Episode: Vexed Bo's been mixing it up with some unsavory characters in the search for her mother, including a vampire named Siegfried. In exchange for some medical bags of blood, Siegfried leads Bo to a woman named LuAnn currently on Death Row for the murder of her stepchildren. But when Bo and Kenzi meet with LuAnn, she's not a killer, but a mournful figure who's keeping her lips sealed. Bo thinks the woman's silence may have something to do with the fact that she's Fae, a point Bo realizes right off. Bo and Kenzi return home in a funk that only gets worse when they learn that Siegfried has been murdered. Bo gets the autopsy report from Dyson, and since his jealousy over Bo's flirtation with Lauren has strained their goodwill, it's a tough-won prize. Bo learns that although Siegfried died in a gruesome manner, it was clearly not a suicide, and there were no struggle marks. Thinking back to the sadness in LuAnn's face, Bo realizes that there must be someone controlling Fae, making them do horrible things that they don't want to do. Bo is determined to find this person and make them pay. But her search earns her some enemies. Someone sends a Fae assassin, called a Morag, to kill Bo. At the end of her wits, she goes to Trick for advice, who, seeing it would be pointless to try to deter Bo, gives her a weapon, called a siricon, that transforms from a simple handle to an impressive blade that protects the bearer from another's powers. It seems Bo has an ally in Trick, even though his motives remain unclear. The Fae responsible for both Siegfried's death and the murder of LuAnn's children is a man named Vex, a favorite of the Dark Fae elders. The Ash knows that it's only a matter of time until Bo finds him and kills him, which will mean Bo's death at the hands of the Dark Fae. The Ash still has much to learn about Bo and her origins, and directs Lauren to distract Bo while Vex is ushered out of town. Bo won't listen to reason, so Lauren seduces Bo in order to keep her safe. When Bo discovers the truth of Lauren's actions, it stokes her rage higher. She learns Vex's name from Lauren and goes on the hunt. Lauren, beside herself with grief, seeks out Dyson and tells him where she thinks Bo and Vex are. Though Vex is more powerful than Bo, her siricon allows her to master him. He tries to buy time by telling her that he has information on her mother, and she presses the siricon blade to his neck to get him to tell what he knows. Dyson arrives and Vex uses the distraction to get away. Dyson tries to make it clear to Bo: he stopped her from killing Vex because he didn't want the Dark Fae army to end her life, but her rage at losing information on her origins only spells betrayal, and the link between her and Dyson may be permanently broken. And across town, LuAnn's body rustles back to life - execution by lethal injection never could've killed a Fae like her - and Trick is there to gather what information he can from her. Quote
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 Episode: Fae Day It's La Shoshain, the holiest of Fae holidays, when all Fae, Light and Dark, put aside their animosities and celebrate together to commemorate the legendary Blood King. No violence may be used today, and Fae of warring clans not only lay down their arms, but may lay down together. Bo has even set aside her differences with the Fae world to drink in good company. Trick's bar is bustling with jubilation when the harp player stops suddenly and lets out an unearthly wail. Trick explains to the bewildered Bo and Kenzi that the woman was a banshee, and her cry foretells the death of a member of the Five Families. The only way to find out which member it is, is to force the information from the banshee. Dyson accompanies Bo, always seeming as though he's keeping a secret, and they learn that the doomed man's name is Sean Cavanaugh. Kenzi has accidentally cozied up to Sean, unwitting of his fate, and her loyalty kicks in to demand that he make and complete a bucket list. First up: Reconciliation with his brother. Bo is the only Fae not aligned with Light or Dark, and she is the only one who can seek out Sean's brother. But when they find Liam, a member of the Dark Fae, he tells Bo that the betrayal worked the other way around, which is why Liam took a hit out on Sean. Bo, Kenzi and Dyson interview Sean at the house, where he spills the whole story: Liam stole $30,000 from a firm represented by the family, and Sean couldn't stand the dishonesty and reported him. Just then, they must fight off a goblin attack (goblins are not beholden to the laws of La Shoshain) and hurry to get Sean and Liam in the same room. The meeting is volatile, but when Bo invokes Agallamh, the whole room falls silent. Agallamh is a rule that demands all parties discuss rather than fight, but unbeknownst to Bo, the invoker of Agallamh forfeits her life if peace is not attained. She seek's Trick's help and sets up the meeting, but it looks as if neither brother is willing to admit fault. Just then, Kenzi realizes that their father, whom she met when Sean went to say goodbye, has a gambling problem and may be the one who stole the money. Bo stalls for time while Kenzi brings him to the Agallamh , and gets him to admit he did it to cover up his addiction and save the family name. Kenzi thinks she may have saved Sean's life, but as the reconciled brothers walk away, a human, burned by Liam's evil financial finagling, shoots at Liam, and Sean leaps in front of the bullet. Peace has been achieved, but a banshee's wail is never wrong. Dyson and Trick discuss the ordeal, and the former asks the latter if he would have used his own blood to save Bo, had it come to that. Trick is silent until Dyson toasts to him, the Blood King, evoking a grumble and curse from the secret regent. Quote
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 episode The Mourning After When a sweetgirl named Allison meets a great guy after speed dating one night, she invites him home, but upon waking up alone, she's filled with shame. After scrawling words like, "whore, slut, dirty" on the wall, she draws a bath, steps into it, and holds a hairdryer under the water. It seems a clear-cut suicide, but Allison's sister, Collette, can't believe that could be true. Bo and Kenzi take on the case, but since Dyson's hands are tied by his cover job and Lauren's still too awkward to be any help, the two girls are on their own. That is, until they are knocked off the trail by a very angry Succubus named Saskia, who demands to know why Bo is hunting on her turf. Bo explains her position, trying to make working for a living sound as cool as possible to a woman who has everything handed to her, and eventually Saskia not only backs off, but also agrees to take Bo under her wing and teach her the advanced techniques of Succubus powers. She also offers to help with the suicide case, but this is too much for Kenzi. With someone else crowding her BFF, Kenzi decides to give the two super-lovers some space, and heads to Trick's bar. Turns out Kenzi's timing is perfect: Trick needs help talking to a type of Fae called a Lightening Bird that will only show herself to human women. One of her eggs will help Trick find a magical coin that's been lost, and is due to a friend of his the next day. Kenzi does her part and secures the egg, but in the process, she hears a hint of Trick's true identity as the Blood King. She won't lord it over him, but she makes it clear that she knows Trick has a pretty good secret to keep. And good news regarding the coin: Trick's "friend" stole it, and when the egg points out the truth, the coin remains Trick's indefinitely. And when Saskia and Bo show up for their meeting with Collette, they find the woman dead, with the same scrawled-out words her sister had written on the walls around her. Saskia sees in them the mark of an Albaster, a Fae that feeds on human sexual shame and the Succubus's deadly enemy. They revisit the bar, but finding no leads, return to their respective homes to think it over. Bo, however, finds that she has a visitor: The manager from the speed dating events that Allison frequented. As he approaches and his eyes glow a deadly blue, Bo realizes that this man, Bertram, is the Albaster. He killed Collette to keep her from digging any deeper, and now he's going to kill Bo - or would have, if Saskia hadn't shown up just then. Saskia incapacitates the Albaster, then the two Succubi tie him to a chair and get the truth out of him. Bo is about to call Dyson for help, but Saskia sucks the man's energy right out of him. Bo is terrified that Saskia would be so violent, but she insists that she was only trying to keep Bo safe. This move has killed the friendship, at least for now, and Bo runs back to the reliable confidences of Kenzi. Bo is grateful for her steady friend, but knows she's lost something precious and powerful in Saskia, and feels a great ache without the mentorship and confidence that Saskia could have provided. LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 Season 1 Blood Lines: After Dyson regains some of his strength following Saskia's assault, he realizes he can't go another minute without coming clean to Bo. He tells her that Saskia, whose real name is Aoife, is her mother, and that he's known for a long time, but kept the secret in service to Trick. Bo storms to the Dal Riata, where Trick abashedly tells Bo the full story: Long ago, when Fae war was constant, Trick was king and longed for peace. As a Blood Sage, Trick has the power to create future events by writing them out in his own blood, and this he did to ensure peace between the Light and the Dark. But Aoife broke the peace, and when she asked Trick to shelter her, he refused, knowing his sanctuary would plunge the world into war again. He turned Aoife over to the Dark, whose king used her as a plaything for years. Trick has never forgiven himself, and neither has Aoife. She has been plotting against him ever since, and it seems now is her time to strike: A Light Fae elder was just found dead, a spark that could start a war. Trick and Dyson try to convince Bo to flee town, but having just located her mother after a grueling search, she knows she must stay and find answers. She goes to Lauren for help on how to defend herself, and when she returns home, there's Aoife, playing Good Mommy and baking cookies. Bo begins asking questions and helps herself to the baked goods, but Aoife baked a drug into them. Bo passes out and wakes up at Aoife's mansion, surrounded by her chi slaves. She hears Aoife's side of the story and has sympathy for her, but when Aoife tells of her plans to take down the hierarchy of Light and Dark through force and assassination, Bo wants no part of it, and has to fight her way out of Aoife's lair. She injures herself escaping the man slaves, but gets away and heals up in Dyson's arms. Dyson begs forgiveness for keeping secrets, but Bo can only promise him that, after she fights this battle on her own, they can talk. Since Dyson sees the futility of trying to change Bo's mind, he seeks outside help: A Fae Ancient called The Norn, who can grant almost any wish, but asks a very dear price in return. Kenzi and Bo find Lauren, who is struggling to treat the Ash and the Fae elders who were wounded in an attack perpetrated by one of Aoife's thralls. All she can do is tell them to use the distraction of carnage to crack into the Light's vault of artifacts, find an amulet that keeps the wearer's chi bound to their body, and use it to fight Aoife. Bo ditches Kenzi in order to keep her safe, but Kenzi can't sit still. She rushes to Trick and demands that he use his blood to protect Bo. Bo has found Aoife and demands that she call off her rampage, but Aoife won't listen and the two attack each other. At that moment, Dyson strikes a deal with The Norn to send his energy to Bo, and with this force, she is able to overpower Aoife. Yet, dangling from a balcony with only Bo's hand to hold onto, Aoife still won't relent her quest for power - until Trick makes a sacrifice and writes the future in his blood. Aoife makes a miraculous transformation. She begs Bo's forgiveness, pleads with her to ask Trick for the rest of the answers, then drops to the ground. But when Bo goes to see where she fell, there's no trace of her mother - only a small pool of blood. And The Norn has taken more than was offered - Dyson was willing to give his very essence, his wolf nature, in exchange for helping Bo, but The Norn took something even dearer: His love for Bo. Now, Dyson has lost the connection that he held most dear, and will never feel the same for Bo again. Quote
