SympathysSilhouette Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Obviously Taylor's relationship is perfectly legal. Doesn't mean it cannot be somewhat creepy.Back in HS I already thought those college types (not talking college freshmen either) who picked up their HS-aged girlfriends after school were massive creeps, I would put this guy in the same category. Schemer Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Taylor is an adult - she can vote, drink alcohol, get married, have a child and do whatever she wants to do unless it's forbidden by the law. Nope. She's not old enough to buy herself a drink. Quote

Look at my post once again because I wrote something different - " In many countries ( for example in my country ) Taylor is an adult - she can vote, drink alcohol, get married ....... ". SympathysSilhouette - I understand your point. I'm just annoyed that people constantly talk about him , that's all. Quote

It doesn't matter one bit because she's not from your country and doesn't live in your country. United States of America don't recognize her as old enough to buy herself a drink. What Ewciolina from Ballazon think is irrelevant. It's the law. Quote

What Ewciolina from Ballazon think is irrelevant. It's the law. My point was it's always better to focus on model's career instead of her boyfriend/family/beliefs or addictions. Alcohol was just an example ( a bone of contention is rather her boyfriend), in US she can't buy it, in other countries she can - who cares? This causes unnecessary tensions, Americans blame her, foreigners defence her - it's vicious circle. And this is not the essence of this thread Quote
toodarnhot Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Nah her boyfriend is a creep, end of. As far as we can tell, he was pursuing her before she was 18 which is illegal, and if the fact that a 30 year old man is after someone who's ten years younger than him, doesn't creep you out then And like you said, turning 21 doesn't automatically make someone more mature- so just because Taylor is over 18 and it's technically legal, it doesn't remove the extremely unbalanced power dynamic that exists in a relationship of this nature. Prettyphile Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Why would a 27-29 year old even want to hang out with a 15/16/17 year old in the first place? .... Even if they weren't dating when she was 16, it's called grooming and it's wrong. Quote

At best it is indeed to use the difference in age and life experience to mold the girl to his will. Quote
SympathysSilhouette Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Also, the fact that the parents approve of it does not mean it is necessarily a healthy relationship. e.g. Doug Hutchison (nearly 51 at the time) got consent from his teenage bride's parents to marry her when she wasn't even 17 yet...Yet I don't know anyone who would consider that marriage very healthy. Prettyphile Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 @SS - Everyone else, please do not click this is you're easily offended over religion. I'm not about ready to get into a 4 page debate over the subject. Die hard super bible thumpers who turn the other cheek because GAWWWD says it's okay and they love each other obviously ---- cause love is ageless Quote
Kevork89 Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I try not to care about that stuff. Not my life not my business. It's her life to live, her mistakes to make, choices etc.People shouldn't get in a fuss over it. Quote
Cult Icon Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 While the implications are obvious, you guys may be assuming too much about his motives. Maybe he's simple Bob, not a Machiavelli... Quote

Maybe he's simple Bob, not a Machiavelli... Of course. This is a judgment devoid of any broader context, however the elements we do know about do not paint a pretty picture. Quote
