I originally planned on doing a full Vlada review, but her career has been so productive (she's been a model for almost a decade) that it'll take some time to dive backwards.

Before I lost the files on my fashion USB I had secretly amassed quite the Vlada collection . Its worth mentioning that my fandom is primarily of her as a model rather than attractiveness, but that's not to say she isn't a cute little doll . I figured she was one of those that was moreso popular on tfs than here though. I guess Elsa could grow on me some.

Vlada has a supernatural appearance. She could be a goddess, an elf, or an angel.  Like Tanya D. , Elsa, Frida G. Nimue Smitt or Sasha Luss.  

 

Come to think of it, Gemma Ward (your favorite!) is also of this type.

 

This is totally different impression to me than say women like Bar, Dionni, AnaBB,  Isabeli, Ale A. or Fabriana.  These women (and a whole lot of Brazilian models for that matter) manage to look very sexual in nearly everything they do.....

In the case of Gemma, her looks probably seem even more alien because she doesn't appear (at least to me) to be definable by race. At first I assumed she some type of Eurasian or something, but I have no idea. That's not to say that I investigated though . I do know that I've never seen another Australian that looks even remotely similar. What I also love about Vlada is that she has a type of gracefulness, classiness and innocence on one hand but can also brink make very haunting expressions when the setting calls for it. Putting both of those together makes her bring a wide range of editorials to life. In the case of Tanya, she actually scared a lot of people when she first came out and her editorials capitalized on that. I don't think I've ever seen an editorial by her that I didn't like. The irony of the fact that she has such a playful personality and sense of humor in contrast to this 'image' is what made her irresistible to me. She is also just as amazing on the runway as she is in editorials.

The thing with Brazilian models is probably because its such a sexually liberal culture so its probably harder to pull off the angelic thing. I'd say Ana BB might be one of the closest things among Brazilian models, but even she has a certain fire that is still too much to pull it off.

Yes this Vogue source is so fertile with High Quality pics,it's been there for years,I used it mainly before for my Magdalena Frackowiak contribution here.But it just contains Runway/backstage photos,no editorials/candids/ad campaigns/or any other kind of work for the models.

I remember noting this before in Baron's thread:  Gemma looks like she has a genetic anomaly which causes her face to look pre-pubescent.  Don't you think so?   That's why I don't know of another model that shares that sort of look.

I would also appreciate if anybody could post other databases like Vogue's.  They are a big help.  I usually use BZ/TFS megathreads in my search but from now on, I'd be going to Vogue first.

Yeah, it's eyes..just not my type.  I like women with big, friendly eyes...

 

I like Katsia a lot too, but she stopped modeling a lot right after she got married...

Big thanks to you Stormbringer.  How old would you say these photos are? I have never seen most of them before.  To me, Heidi Klum appeared to be active until the mid 2000s or so, then stopped modeling.  I think she publicly announced that she quit modeling about four (?) years ago. Is that about right?

 

I had waited to respond because I wanted to post galleries but as of now I'm still accumulating.  I will post 3 soon besides my notes here, there will be newcomers:   Lena Gercke, Florencia Fabian, Jesia Chiminazzo, and Stf van der Laan.  There will also be:  Marloes Horst, the early years, Candice Swanepoel and Bar Rafeli.

Yes, I think she actually quit modeling 4 years ago, in 2009 if I'm not wrong.

And about the pics... some of them may be from the late 90's maybe, but most of them must be from early through mid 2000's.

I still have more pics of her, I will be posting them hopefully this week.

Thanks.  I remember Heidi Klum quitting modeling and making a witty public statement about how she's 'too old'.
