Mickiala Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 I went and saw this last night, here is my review It was very good but not great. No Spoilers Hugh Jackman-was born to be in a musical, his best performance in any movie to date.(I think the oscar will go to Day-Lewis though) Anne Hathaway-was very good, got a little teary during I dreamed a dream Disappointed in- Russell Crowe (to rock and roll sounding) and Amanda Seyfried (high pitched bird) Eddie Redmayne- Fantastic, he did a beautiful job!! Samantha Barks-Wonderful, I found myself cheering for Eponine instead of Cosette. Tom Hopper-shouldn't win any awards for directing, he needed to back up and stop zooming in on their faces, I got dizzy several times from the shaky camera also. I love musicals,Although I had never seen this one live,I have read the book,There was maybe 20 words spoken everything else was sung. I heard several people mention this on the way out,it was different in that aspect then anything I have ever seen, loved the ending. It was a sold out theatre, people applauded at the end, the lady sitting next to me had seen it on broadway and said this was just as good. I would give it an 8 out of 10. Quote
Single_Lady Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I quite the contrary like very few musicals, but now I know what to expect , thank you Mickiala I'm pretty sure that Hugh, Anne and Amanda couldn't disappoint me too Now I only have to wait till february Quote
Mickiala Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 the actors in the oscar's event: Thanks Mary I wonder what's being said on stage in the 3rd pic. Helena has quite the expression on her face Quote
Tania82 Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 All people dying... really sad, to me, good actors, director, professional but very stupid story! Quote
