Stormbringer Posted June 1, 2017 Author Posted June 1, 2017 It was 50 years ago today, Sg. Pepper taught the band to play 50 years ago The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, one of the most if not THE most important album in the history of Rock music and maybe in the whole popular music of the XX Century and onwards too. Even if it's not my favorite album, and I don't even consider it to be The Beatles' best, but there's no doubt it's the most important and the one which made the biggest impact and had the biggest influence. Stormbringer Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 60 years ago today John Lennon met Paul McCartney at the Woolton Parish church in Liverpool. John Lennon was playing that day with his band The Quarrymen and Paul McCartney was invited by a mutual friend. Quote

Stormbringer Posted November 22, 2018 Author Posted November 22, 2018 This masterpiece is turning 50 years old today! The BEATLES, mostly known as the White Album was released on this day in 1968. An explosion of music an creativity, it's a double album consisting of 30 songs that range from the calm of Blackbird and Dear Prudence to the proto-Metal of Helter Skelter; from the lullaby that is Good Night to the bizarre and experimental Revolution 9.... an album that pretty much has it all. By far also my favorite album, not only by The Beatles but in general. It might not be the musical perfection that it's Abbey Road, but it has something that makes it better for me. BEST ALBUM EVER!!!! Quote

Stormbringer Posted August 12, 2019 Author Posted August 12, 2019 This is wonderful: The Beatles working on George's song Something during the Get Back sessions (which would end up being the album Let It Be) Quote
nekkator Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Great tribute thread, very cool! I too have a special love for the White Album, something about the raw intensity and diverse styles. John is very intense here rivaled by Paul on maybe only Helter Skelter (not to slag Paul, he's just mellower on most of the album) Quote
Stormbringer Posted January 29, 2020 Author Posted January 29, 2020 From the Get Back sessions (what would end up being the Let it Be album): George's song Let It Down that would end up being part of Harrison's solo masterpiece All Things Must Pass Quote
