"I think it's going to be good, when we have a chance to put it up on its feet," says Depp of the project, The actor will play the role of Tonto in the project, which is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer with original "Pirates of the Caribbean" director Gore Verbinski attached to helm. "What we've got so far screenplay-wise is really great, really funny."Depp, who is part Cherokee, feels a special connection to the role of Tonto. "I always felt Native Americans were badly portrayed in Hollywood films over the decades," he says. "It's a real opportunity for me to give a salute to them. Tonto was a sidekick in all the Lone Ranger series. [This film] is a very different approach to that partnership. And a funny one I think."http://www.cnn.com/2011/SHOWBIZ/Movies/01/...lone.ranger.ew/ Quote

vintagecoffee Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Johnny Depp, ever since I can remember, has been my favorite actor and of all time. When I was little, I watched "Sleepy Hollow", though it scared the hell out of me and I didn't see it for seven years after the first time I saw it. I was only 6 so I wasn't gushing over him or anything. But once I saw the first "Pirates" movie, I was hooked. I remember seeing "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in IMAX and I started googling him after that and I fell in love. I have seen almost all of his movies, my favorite one is probably "Edward Scissorhands", his performance was heartbreaking and he was adorable. I believe he deserved the Oscar for "Finding Neverland", it's one of my favorite movies and he was incredible! "Sweeney Todd" is one of my favorite movies EVER, so are a lot of his other movies. He doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks, he is funny, has great style and is very down to earth and extremely good looking. Even my mom thinks he's gorgeous, and we differ a lot on celebrity people. His attitude and talent make people who think he's "just another pretty face" think twice. I can't get over how amazing he truly is. I think I'm just gushing here. He is also a great father, whenever he talks about his kids you can just tell he's a great parent and loves his kids more than anything. He's a family man, which makes him even more attractive. His girlfriend is the luckiest girl in the world in my opinion. Anyway, He HAS talent... THREE Oscar nominations! And one day, he will win one. I hope soon, too. Quote
vintagecoffee Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I was given the 'weird' badge, but I think everybody's weird and that’s the key to it. We should celebrate our individuality, not be embarrassed or ashamed of it. We all have idiosyncrasies, tics that are obsessive-compulsive. People do themselves a great disservice by not allowing themselves to see who they really are because they are afraid. -Johnny Depp Just thought I should share Quote
