The inspiration for the Couture collection ss 2016 comes also from Frenchborn American sculptor Louise Bourgeois (1911 - 2010) who helped her parents in their textile fabric.

 

Her sculptures of giant spiders  such as "Maman" pay tribute to her mother who weaved tapestries to restore them. It is an arachnid as nice as Charlotte A. Cavatica in Charlotte's Web. So it is perhaps not just a coincidence that Laetitia replied to the Zeit magazine question 'What women do you admire?', 'Simone de Beauvoir, Marguerite Duras and Louise Bourgeois'.

Worldwide premiere of the movie "En Moi" directed by Laetitia Casta on May 20, 2016 for the closing of the Cannes Semaine de la Critique (Critics' Week).

 

 

The very first pic of the Laetitia's movie featuring Yvan Attal in the role of the filmmaker shooting a very pretty girl with blond hair (Lara?) briefly appears (at 6:33s) starting from 6:23s during the official announcement of the 55th selection by Charles Tesson, the artistic director of La Semaine de la Critique in Cannes.
