My spin: Wow! I had thought Nina might have a chance in her match against Kate, but I never expected to have her get more than two-thirds of the vote. This is a pretty overwhelming result, and Kate's fans will be unhappy to learn she's been knocked out in the Sexy Sixteen. Perhaps this is an indication of a groundswell of support for a cover appearance for Nina? Who knows, but it's certainly an impressive win, and Nina looks like she'll be tough to stop.

That's was unexpected. I voted for Nina but I predicted Kate would win that round but it was a difficult vote. Now I think the winner could be

either Nina or Marisa

My spin: After yesterday's shocker of a result, we go back to a completely expected one.  Brooklyn had no trouble getting past Shannan, as expected, and she advances to the Quarterfinal Round.  This is a great example of the magic of tournaments.  If Shannan had gotten a tougher draw, this is probably what would have happened to her in a much earlier round.  But, she had a very favorable draw and took full advantage of it to end up in the Sexy Sixteen.  Regardless of the draw, winning five matches to get from the Qualifying Round to the final 16 models is eye opening and deserves a lot of respect.  Good run for Shannan!

My spin: Stephanie pulled off an upset over Heidi Klum in the last round, but the Bar was too high in the Sexy Sixteen.  Bar advances to what should be a great matchup against Brooklyn in the Quarterfinal Round.

My spin: Anne V had a good run in this year's tournament, advancing all the way to the Sexy Sixteen and justifying her #14 seed, but she was no match for The Body.  Elle easily moves on to the Quarterfinal Round.  Really, she hasn't been challenged this entire tournament, so we'll see if that continues in the Quarterfinal Round, too.

My spin: Lucia's amazing run from the Qualifying Draw to the late stages of the tournament finally comes to an end at the hands of Yamila.  Next round's Yamila vs. Elle matchup is the only one of the four Quarterfinal matches to feature two models who are "supposed to be here."  By that, I mean that they are both in the top 8 seeds.  No other match has that, interestingly enough.

My spin: Marisa continues to look the part of a contender for the championship, as she disposes of Irina in the Quarterfinal Round.  Some models have been the beneficiary of a favorable draw in the tournament, but Marisa has not been one of those.  Her Round 1 match was against Rachel Roberts, who had destroyed her competition in the Qualifying Draw.  But, Marisa easily advanced to Round 2, where she faced another tough test, Chrissy Teigen.  Again, Marisa advanced easily.  Since then, she's gotten past #17 Petra Nemcova, #1 Kathy Ireland, and now #9 Irina Shayk to advance to the Semifinal Round.  She has earned it!  Kudos to Irina, as well, for a great run through the 2013 tournament.
