Jimmy Changa Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 ^^ I've read some Patterson...great reads, disturbing too Recently read I, Robot by Isaac Asimov. If anyone has seen the movie, forget it. They took one idea from the book, the 3 laws, and abused it in order to make an action flick. The book is a collection of related short stories that progress through the evolution of robotics. It has style and while it is much more "nerdy" in that it seriously analyzes the advancements in robotics and the evolution of the 3 laws, it is much more interesting. There is nothing even resembling the movie except a Dr. Susan Calvin, 3 laws and robots. I liked the movie, don't get me wrong, and I know why they had to make it that way (the dumbing of America and all), but the book is better as usual. Currently reading: 2001 A Space Odyssey (Arthur C Clarke) The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists (Neil Strauss) (on the suggestion of a certain BZer) "it's like giving dynamite to children" Quote
