17 Moments of Spring Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Quote How to solve a Rubik's Cube in five seconds No sledgehammers required This week, 14-year-old Lucas Etter set a new world record for solving the classic Rubik’s cube in Clarksville, Maryland, in the US, solving the scrambled cube in an astonishing 4.904 seconds. The maximum number of face turns needed to solve the classic Rubik’s cube, one that is segmented into squares laid out 3x3 on each face, is 20, and the maximum number of quarter turns is 26. It took 30 years to discover these numbers, which were finally proved by Tomas Rokicki and Morley Davidson using a mixture of mathematics and computer calculation. The puzzle does have 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 (43 times 1018, or 43 quintillion) possible configurations after all. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/11/30/solve_rubiks_cube_five_seconds_how_to/ Quote

jj3 Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 ^ Interesting... But IMHO, it's not so OMG...It's something well known from those who are interested into internationals politic or even diplomacy... All his speech can be resumed in two words: rollback and containment...Once again nothing new...Is it really woking so far you may ask...Well, sometimes yes, sometimes no...USA are using this strategy since the end of the WW2... And they got lots of luck since... 1989 was a big WTF in the US when it's happened lol But as always, experts can't provide, or prevent the futur... We call that the X Factor lol Glasnost and perestroika are two exemples ... Quote
17 Moments of Spring Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Quote USA are using this strategy since the end of the WW2 So the cold war still goes on, nothing changed. Ukraine - the USA is doing now what Khrushchev did during the Cuban missile crisis. Sheer power interests. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-01-02/oliver-stones-new-movie-ukraine-cia-coup-coming-theater-near-you Quote
jj3 Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 Basically, the things changed IMO. Just because the men are not the same, obviously. Putin is not Stalin or Khrushchev. And Obama (or whoever they will elect or elected so far, for me it's just more of the same... ) is not Eisenhower or Kennedy. Both sides have lots to lose now (which was not the case before funny enough...). But fundamentally, we're playing the same game. Russia lost the 1rst act, but not the whole game. We're living another part of the same game...Some rules changed, and some others changed, the game evolved. Experts thought the game was done after 1989. It was not. They thought a new Era started after 09/11, still not the case. Now, we can't deny there's more players: China especially. IMO France and UK are out now as players (even more than before) but Central Europe is, according me, back in the game too. Not as player, but like new factors, like FR and UK are now. Some cards are still not revealed...Japan, South-Korea, Germany, South-America... Just now, i wonder why (???) this dude focused on Germany in his speech lol Germany sounds so strong, just because France is weak and undecided by now, JUST LIKE GERMANY... Quote
17 Moments of Spring Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 ^ USA is trying to thwart the cooperation of the EU and Russia, so they directed this bad skirmish in Ukraine. Forced by the USA, the trade embargo with Russia is detrimental for the economies of the EU states. Mission accomplished. Germany is the leading continental EU country by population and economy, and it needs the Russian gas and raw materials. They lost WWII, but they dominate continental EU again. That's why this ... ... talks about Germany. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nord_Stream Quote
jj3 Posted January 1, 2016 Author Posted January 1, 2016 Yeah...They dominate ...In winter when they buy the French electricity..., they don't give the vibe they dominate The same for the war against terrorism ... And what about the culture ? So yeah, they have the money, indeed Quote
17 Moments of Spring Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 They're fools for giving up on nuclear plants. Before 1933, Berlin was the scientific center of the world. So I'm not dissing German culture... just their language. But I do like French mentality more. Quote
