@Cult Icon  I just watched a movie about a French forensic doctor who went to Russia in order to authenticate the remains of Hitler (some teeth and a part of his skull) that they claim to have. It turns out that they are authenthic (which confirms once again that he committed suicide in his bunker and got burnt afterwards). BTW, the Russians keep his skull in a floppy disk box and his teeth in a cigar box...

It was really interesting. The guy also explains how Stalin convinced the Western countries in 1945 that Hitler wasn't dead (while Stalin clearly knew he was, because the Russians found his remains shortly after his suicide). His goal was to push the western countries to use up a part of their ressources to find him. Very interesting. Stalin was a very good strategist (if not one of the best); he really knew how to use deception.

No, where was Hitler's remains stored?

The thing with Hitler escaping is that it was awfully hard! to do so.  There were three x  Guards Tank Armies encircling the government quarter.  IIRC there were rumors that he escaped to Argentina and so forth.

The German Film "Der Untergang" is probably the best one about the last days of the 3rd Reich.  It's definitely the best acted one as far as now- the actors had the mannerisms of the 3rd Reich elite done right and also their favorite casual pose (hands behind the back ! :D)

have you seen it?

SS General Mohnke announces that the defense perimeter is collapsing.  Hitler says: "The Western Democracies are decadent; they will be defeated by those disciplined peoples of the East..."

They kept a part of his skull and his teeth (including dental prostheses). They burnt the rest of his body and spread the ashes.

The teeth are stored in the Lubianka (Лубя́нка), aka the headquarters of the FSB (former KGB). The skull is in the Russian Archives.

The rumors of Hitler going to Argentina was a legend that was spread by the Russians so that the USA would use up a part of their spying forces and concetrate them on this useless task. I think it was a pretty smart deceptive strategy.

The Doctor that appraised the remains (including the theeth and the dental prostheses) said that Hitler had a "periodontal disease" (he was losing his teeth). The guy explains that Hitler was a vegetarian and this type of illness can happen when you are vegetarian (for some other people, it can be due to tobacco or malnutrition).

So, the guy compared the dental prostheses with several files from his dentist and prosthetist, and he found a pure match. He also verified with Scanning electron microscope that the teeth had real tartar (to be sure that they were really used) and he double checked that it only had vegetal fibers.

Anyway, I really like historical investigations. @Cult Icon Do you know a French criminal case during Louis XIV era (17th century) called "L'affaire des poisons" (the case of the poisons)? It's a really interesting story.

No, what's it about?

With Hitler he was a human wreck by May 1945.  He had been living under extreme over stimulation and stress since 1939 and his body was failing.  He had an early onset of parkinson's disease and was a drug addict (he had a quack doctor that routinely gave him pills and injections to keep going).  He was breaking down mentally as well, with bursts of mania and deep nihilism.  He aged to a shocking point (since 1939) and his back was hunched.   He was sickly pale, as well.   His diet was vegetables and pastries.

A lot of germans escaped to South America to restart their lives there (including a lot of war criminals).  Some went to Spain, which was ruled by fascist Franco.  The majority of ex-anti-partisan army/police (that committed genocide, atrocities, etc.) and SS men returned to their civilian lives, often with success.  There were post- war lobby groups like HIAG that tried to reestablish them in post war society and grant them honor and public money (eg. pensions):

She looks a bit like Sasha Luss (and that other model that looks like her).

The National Security Agency (NSA) collected over 530 million phone records of Americans in 2017—that's three times the amount the spy agency sucked up in 2016.

The figures were released Friday in an annual report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).

It shows that the number of "call detail records" the agency collected from telecommunications providers during Trump's first year in office was 534 million, compared to 151 million the year prior.
