Prettyphile Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 One of the many Stephen King adaptations headed our way, we’ve just learned that AT&T Audience Network’s drama series “Mr. Mercedes,“ based on the same-named King novel that was published back in 2014, will be premiering this coming Summer. We’ve also gotten our hands on a few early images, giving us our first look at Harry Treadaway as Brady Hartsfield. Check ’em out below, via the official “Mr. Mercedes” Facebook page! Brendan Gleeson leads as Detective Bill Hodges, along with Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful) as Brady Hartsfield. Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight) is cast as Jerome Robinson, Scott Lawrence (Avatar) as Detective Peter Dixon, Robert Stanton (Mercury Rising) as Anthony “Robi” Frobisher, and Ann Cusack (Nightcrawler) as Olivia Trelawney, with Mary Louise-Parker (Weeds) as Janey Patterson, and Holland Taylor (The Truman Show) as Ida Silver. Kelly Lynch (Deborah Hartsfield), Justine Lupe (Holly Gibney) and Breeda Wool (Lou Linklatter) also star. King himself will reportedly appear in a cameo role. Based on Stephen King’s 2014 book, “Mr. Mercedes” follows demented killer Brady Hartsfield (Treadaway), who taunts a retired police detective Bill Hodges (Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again. David E. Kelley wrote adaptation, produced by Sonar Entertainment. Jack Bender directs. Both executive produce along with Temple Hill Entertainment’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey. Quote

~Euforia~ Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 he is definitely crazy. He started as a sociopath and is becoming a psychopath. Quote
~Euforia~ Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 I am here letting a 12year old watch this show, and she is addictive to it. I am here starting feeling guilty about it. Quote
frenchkiki Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Such a great great show (AHS new season can DIAF) I can't wait for the last episode and Mr happy slapper Spoiler meeting Brady's head! I don't understand why they changed the book ending to another for the show but as they follow 95% of the original story, they are forgiven The tv show is also very PC when the book is not. Brady is a racist, sexist & homophobe and 10x more an asshole in the book. And also http://deadline.com/2017/10/mr-mercedes-renewed-season-2-stephen-king-david-e-kelley-audience-network-harry-treadaway-1202185737/ "Finders Keepers" is my fav book of the Bill Hodges Trilogy Quote
La Vie Est Belle Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I am so happy that is getting another season. I love this show. Quote

frenchkiki Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Did u watch the last episode already? Quote
frenchkiki Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 well after Brady Spoiler accidentally kills his mother with a poisoned hamburger he plans to kill himself by blowing himself up at a giant concert for young girls by feigning the need for a wheelchair and utilizing explosives hidden inside the wheelchair. Jerome, Hodges, and Holly manage to uncover Hartsfield's real identity and search his computer hard drives. They eventually deduce that Brady's target is the concert and the trio rush to the concert venue to stop him. Hodges begins to suffer from a heart attack and is unable to venture into the concert with Holly and Jerome, but urges them to press on. Holly locates Brady and delivers several harsh blows to his head using Hodges' "Happy Slapper" – a sock filled with ball bearings. Brady is left bleeding and unconscious on the concert floor. Hodges (who had been saved by concert staff), Holly, and Jerome have a picnic to discuss the recently transpired events. Hodges has learned that he will not be criminally charged for his actions regarding the Brady investigation. They have received a medal from the city, congratulating them on their work. Hartsfield wakes up in the hospital, asking for his mother. In the book the police is not breaking into his house and there is not fire/ Only Jerome and Holly breaks in and Holly is the one finding out the password for the computer (Chaos & Darkness) and what Brady is up to. And Jerome little sister is one of the character in the book who is not in the show. Quote
~Euforia~ Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 @frenchkiki Spoiler Leaving Jerome’s sister out in the show is okay, maybe not an important character. What about Lou, how was her ending in the book? did he killed his boss too? Quote
frenchkiki Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Once Lou is fired we don't really hear about her/ Spoiler She is back in the third book and she is not dying even if she is shot by someone. And no, he is not killing his boss in the book Hodges' Neighbour (Ida) is not in the book. I still trying to figure out why they think her character will be useful in the serie? Quote
~Euforia~ Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 @frenchkiki thanks a lot in the info. I am excited to see the new season. Quote
CandleVixen Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 I was able to watch this over the past week. I can see why they did the changes, because they had to 'set up' for the potential second season. I've not read this King story yet, I did find the show riveting. I like Mr. Gleeson though, so that might be part of it. It was very dark even in the humor, which is one of the reasons I like Steven King. Quote
frenchkiki Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 Everything was already set up in the book for book 2 and 3. You don't even need to read book 2 since book 3 it's the direct continuation of 1 (years later). But "finders keepers" is too good to not read it Quote
