A Little More on the Insanely Sexy Lara Stone

For our December issue, Dutch-born model Lara Stone dished on her favorite things. But our chat didn't just concern her body part of choice (boobs on her, butts on other people) or pair of shoes (flip-flops), she also dished on her experience shooting the new CK One Shock campaign. And of course, since this Allure, we asked her to divulge some of her beauty secrets and style inspirations. Turns out while she may be seriously smoking for the camera, behind the sexy exterior she's also sweet and well-spoken.

Why CK One Shock—what do you love about it? I like the scent because it's very easy, fresh, and never heavy or overpowering. It's different from the original because that was a unisex scent and now they've made one for girls and one for boys. They've made the masculine one more musky and the feminine one sexier. Which is great because I prefer to smell sexy, I think it just goes better with my personality.

What was it like to shoot the ad campaign for the scent? Without a doubt it was one of my favorite shoots ever—it was so much fun. And it was an entirely unique experience. I was with all these amazing people. They weren't all models, but they were chosen to be in the campaign for all their unique personalities and talents. We were locked up in this box together—it was the most genius idea, and you just lost your inhibitions, like nobody was looking at you, besides the few people that were there with you. It was spontaneous and natural, and I felt like I could just be completely myself.

What was your craziest shoot ever? Lots of them have been really crazy. Even just shooting the winter clothes in the summer so you're boiling, and then you're in a bikini in the snow in the winter. Most of them are pretty insane, but at the end of the day it's quite rewarding when you get a really nice shot.

Do you have a favorite fashion show that you've walked in? That's a hard question. I guess the one that stands out is the first one I ever did, which was Givenchy Haute Couture. It was so new and special and scary and exciting at the same time. Even after that I was still terrified—I don't think it's something you can every really get used to.

So do you prefer photo shoots over walking the runway? I do prefer photo shoots. It's more controlled and you know who you're dealing with and what's going on—you're not just being looked at. Some people love runway but it doesn't really go with my personality. I hate being stared at.

When you're off duty, what's your normal beauty routine? When I'm not working my beauty look is very easy. You're skin gets tired of all the products so I usually just put on some mascara and concealer and be done with it.

What about for a night out? Well, I can't do my hair to save my life, and it is really boring because it literally just hangs straight down, so I either wear it down or put it in a ponytail, which is really all I can do. For my makeup, I just make sure my skin looks nice and even, but not too made up, and then I put on some mascara and eyeliner, maybe even do a smoky eye. I love the look of bold lipstick but there have been so many times when I've put on bright pink lipstick at home and two minutes later it's all over my teeth, hands, and cheeks, and before you know it, it's everywhere around the house.

What's your best beauty tip? Don't smoke. I'm trying to stop at the moment, so I think that's really important. And sunscreen is very important. I always make sure my normal face cream has sunscreen it in and on holiday I cover myself. There's nothing worse than sun poisoning and all that stuff.

Do you have a style icon? I think it would have to be Carine Roitfeld who used to work at French Vogue. I think she dresses amazingly, very classic, but still really modern. It's always different and there's always something sexy about it, but never ever vulgar. I would also like to be like my little sister. She's incredibly calm and very smart, and she's really nice and she's got this big heart. She's giving, loving, and caring—I mean, she's just perfect.
