I mean I know you said it before. I'm just appalled at how "special invitations" are a thing now, especially for the Hadids who did zero work with the brand. Sui and Ming, okay that's understandable. Dilone, Devon, Alexina, the rest who are favored and liked for, okay makes sense.

 

I just wonder if as the years go by, are we going to get an increasing amount of girls who just get a straight pass in to the show. Boy is VS being generous.

They have done this for years tho, do you really think Natasha Poly and Naomi Campbell went to castings back in the day? :rofl: hell, Natasha didn't even go for castings in 2014 and got the show until she decided to drop them last minute. Irina Shayk also didn't do castings in 2016.

 

This has always been a thing. Dilone and Devon did castings last year, Barbara Fialho has done castings every year even tho she's the #1 fitting model. It's a very rare thing i.e you are a big name, you're getting an outfit molded for you or something like that. They are not being generous at all. I expect to see all the vets at the casting except the Hadids and Alexina, everyone else I'm pretty sure will go to the casting.

I thought we agreed that Dilone, Devon and other fit models going to castings are just formality purposes. Going by that logic, technically fit models are all "invited" to walk the show too no?

It's a very very rare thing fit models get rejected but it has happened before, like one or two times. Can't remember if it was Alessandra in 1999 and Lindsay Ellingson in 2006, they both were fit models but didn't walk the show. It's a bit of a dick move but it has happened, you gotta remember John, Ed and Monica (3/4 of the people involved in the castings) aren't there for a lot of the pre-show stuff so they don't see the fit models that often like Todd or Sophia do, so there is a very very small chance they won't make the cut. 

 

I'm pretty sure we'll see them all this year but the fact even them have to go to callbacks instead of being counted in already says that while they are one step ahead of the others, they are still not really confirmed to walk.

I don't think we'll get Miley and Ariana tho. And since Miley is pretty much confirmed due to the lip sync video, it feels unlikely. I like Cardi's music so I'd be fine with that but I don't see VS being her type of gig.

 

Niall's tour is almost over and he's gonna go MIA after that tho so I don't think he'd be doing the show, he's been quite vocal about wanting a big break after the touring and stuff. Liam and Zayn are far more likely IMO

anyways.....Dua Lipa would be fun. She did the Etam show 2 years ago and I thought it worked out very well.  If the show is indeed in New York, then Cardi B....being a New Yorker would be an obvious choice.  Ariana’s God is a Woman just seems too perfect of a fit not to happen.

 

luckily I think Taylor Swift will still be on tour when they film the VSFS so hopefully we can take her out if the running.

Gorgeous. But they already have models that look like her. Same for Rosmary. I still adore her and that walk.

This was the first casting for a lot of girls tho, so I'm hopeful maybe next year some of them will make it. Not that many girls book the show in their first try, especially if they don't come from a strong background. I'm hopeful Rosmary, Lini, I-Hua and others will have better luck next year

I wish the music producers of VS would scout soundcloud for remixes and DJ's.

 

 

I still love this song and performance of models. Naomi the Goddess had perfect timing with that turn.
