RocketQueen Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 1980s model stories: Early on in my modeling career I was asked or rather told I’d be a swimwear & lingerie model so I had to get comfortable with my body fast here I am in Paris 1981 or 2 so just 16 or 17 working for @marieclairemag with @pamela_hanson who was always wonderful to work with she was so kind to me. My job as a professional model involved a lot of improv meaning working with artist that hired you to help tell a photographic story & sell a garment it was a #lifestylemodel shoot I was going to the top I did not leave high school for nothing I was an #80smodel I had a couple of limits I would never show my boobs or do nudes, I had made that very clear to my agents, but I would encounter some obstacles on my modeling journey of course I was asked to take off my top or would I be willing to go nude what model wasn’t ? My answer was always “no” & this felt empowering to me I had always been fine in swim wear & this tiny amount of clothing I felt like it covered enough & there where many gals if you wanted to see models boobs or shoot nudes, I was not your model. I liked having this tiny bit of privacy in a career where you had almost none. (A year ago today I was on my way to Paris for a two week holiday it was a blast!) Quote
