Nemeside Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Just like is metrosexual forefather David Beckham, Portuguese soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo injured himself during practice on Tuesday. Training with his team for the Euro 2008 Group A qualifier in Serbia, the Manchester Unites star injured his left heel. "At this time we don't know if he (Ronaldo) will play," Portugal team spokesman Onofre Costa told reporters on Tuesday. "He sprained his heel. It doesn't look very serious but we are not sure if he will be fit." We hope he's well enough to play today. No one can "manhug" quite like Cristiano! Quote

LuNo Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Ronaldo Agent In Secret Madrid TalksReal Madrid's quest to sign prise Cristiano Ronaldo away from Manchester United is continuing after the player's agent held secret talks with the Spanish club, according to a report. The Portuguese forward has become Madrid's number one target for next season and the process to attract him to the Bernabéu is unrelenting, sports daily AS claim.Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, met Madrid representative, Franco Baldini, in London last week before Chelsea's encounter with Valencia to evaluate how best to move forward.Baldini, Predrag Mijatovic's right-hand man, was told that the 22-year-old would jump at the chance to move and was waiting to see what happened before sitting down with United to discuss a new deal.Telephone conversations between Baldini and Madrid have confirmed that Madrid president Ramón Calderón is prepared to make a huge offer to sign Ronaldo and that has heightened the player's interest. The meeting, which was held in secret but discovered by AS, saw the agent and the club agree to pursue the move as Ronaldo would be prepared to force his way out of Old Trafford.Another key to any deal would be the amount Madrid are preparing to offer, which is thought to be in the region of €80m.That amount could see United owner, Malcolm Glazer, sanction the move because, along with saving €55m on the renewal of Ronaldo's contract, cold see the club's value rise considerably. After the rendezvous in London, Baldini spoke with Mijatovic, who in turn told Calderón, and the wheels are now firmly in motion as the end of the season draws close.AS also believes that Ronaldo has told United that he wants more time to think about renewing his contract, which has made the Premiership giants nervous. The speculation will continue unabated, with the saga set to be ths summer's long-running transfer story.Madrid have a history of being able to pull off seemingly impossible transfers, as previous president Florentino Pérez brought in several star names after several months of chasing them.
