Did you find the show a bit disturbing too?  In an intriguing way, that is.  (Addiction/craziness, Body horror, extreme gore).  Ghost in the Shell (comic, show, sequel) have an element of body horror as well.

Yes, I found it quite gore at times and not just in the fighting scenes (where there are organs, members or eyes hanging by threads of tendons...), but also in the doc moments (like when he gets his Sandevistan implant).

Lucy's haircut looks like Motoko and there are lots of parallels with GitS, though I find GitS to be darker than Edgerunners.

I like the fact that there's a huge component of motherly love when David is a kid and woman's love when he becomes a man. Lucy/David's relationship is nice, it's a mix of teenage love and middle-aged love. This show treats a variety of themes in a crude and minimalist way, but still very effective.

Agreed, the story is quite solid and it does use a lot of tropes.  But it combines them pretty well.

When he gets his spine removed and replaced, my jaw dropped lol.  Also what was freaky was how he kept on removing his organic body parts for cyborg ones, until he was just a head and torso.

IIRC Motoko was almost entirely cyborg except for her brain.

^ yes, that's why she was a ghost in the shell.

It's like Adam Smasher in cyberpunk, though Adam has lost most of his humanity, which is not the case with Motoko.

I just tried to replay Cyberpunk after I installed the last patches... I got the same bugs as before (the one with the erratic moves when you're close to a ladder is quite annoying ) and I got one crash (after my first attempt).

I thought the bugs were fixed lol.

I had no idea that they remade Call of Duty Modern Warfare II.  The AI is still rudimentary.  they just make the same game over and over again..

This is great news to me.  Over the summer I posted my thoughts about Witcher 1 here.  Outside of the dated combat/graphics (2007) it is a proto-Witcher 3 and a great game on its own right.  It has a unique, great atmosphere and story that doesn't overlap with Witcher 2/3.  So it is a perfect candidate for a remake, particularly to reach fans who have played 3 or 2/3 but haven't played 1 because it is too dated.

There is also huge potential to connect W3 to W1, in terms of story and characters and enrich both of them.

^ I hope they update the gameplay too... it's  really a weak point in the Witcher's games.

They should really draw from Souls' games. Respawan made a Souls like gameplay (mixed with Metroidvania) with Jedi Fallen Order and it worked well.

Oh, I've seen that.

I hope it's the beginning of CDPR's redemption arc...

Unreal engine 5 is... unreal! This is the real next gen.

The main romance option in Witcher 1 is Triss or Shani :D  No Yennefer, no Ciri.

Also there are 20-25 plus minor romances.  This game has the most romances out of the trilogy.

Vesemir, Lambert, Eskel and Kaer morhen are there too!

Ah, it's the Revenge of the Redheads, then :Ophelia_Immortal:

Sounds cool. I hope CDPR don't screw up this time...

From what I heard a big reason why CDPR messed with Cyperpunk is that they created their own proprietary engine, which has serious failings.

Now they are using someone else's.

I really hope that they bring in the same voice actors.  It will be cool to see a more serious Triss and Shani romance.

That's what I heard too. That and the fact that they had unrealistic deadlines, expectations and the managers didn't listen to the coders.

I hope so too. Voice actors in the witcher 3 are awesome. Geralt's voice is way better than in the netflix series.

I miss all of them, they are like old friends in a way.

The main city in the game is Vizima, the capital.  It's where the emperor lives.

There is also Kaer Morhen and some places like W3 (a crookback bog/run down area, regular villages, etc.)

I see some culture warriors are complaining about the remake because they used the term "modern re-iminaging" in the announcement and it is being interpreted as "woke".

A normal person might interpret that as "a remake in Unreal Engine 5", but I guess I'm no longer attuned to the times.
