Based on the episode ten trailer, it will feature

Spoiler

the scene where Aemond kills Lucerys. 0:30 features Lucerys running to Arrax to escape. Then 0:31, you can see Vhagar emerging from behind the castle walls, probably the moment when Aemond will pursue his nephew on dragonback.

I'm surprised, I thought that was going to be a moment they were saving for season two!

Yeah, it looks like this season will end with a massive cliffhanger- the actual civil war will be next season.  Do you know when S2 will come out?

2024

Same with Rings of Power season two.

sucks, another long wait.

Hopefully they give us a battle scene for episode 10.  (unlikely?)

There has been very little action this season.

been catching up with the show.

I think the actor for Christian Cole is miscast from episodes 6 onward.

A big issue with him is his appearance and voice.  He comes across as a soft-spoken/gentle, good looking nice guy.  Watching him play a villain (early Jaime lannister type) doesn't really work since he played the nice guy in episodes 1-5.

I thought the Aemond Lucerys stuff was handled poorly.

I don't think it's meant to be interpreted as an accident in the books. So why would they portray it as such in the TV show?

GRRM has been very involved with the show and perhaps this was done to make the show more dynamic.  (like other changes and additions).

Like the idea of the Dragons being not fully controllable and Aemond trying to troll Lucerys big time rather than murder him.  It would make Aemond more sympathetic in S2.

Overall I don't find Aemond very intriguing yet.  His look is great but he literally has 5 minutes of lines in the show..

I think they probably did it to make Aemond not a total villain, but in the books it's much more of a clear murder attempt.

Also, Borros Baratheon does more of a real attempt to protect Prince Lucerys.

Strangely they seemed to decide to make Aemond more sympathetic and Borros less so.

I know they probably won't even feature in Season two yet but I do hope House of the Dragon eventually gives us the Lads. :)

what are the lads?

Brothers Kermit and Oscar Tully and their pal Benjicot Blackwood. AKA Bloody Ben.

I think possibly the kid we saw killing the Bracken when Rhaenyra was considering suitors is meant to be young Benjicot. Though I think they gave him another name in that episode? He might also not be him and just a relative (most likely a cousin then).

They are three young commanders of the Riverlands troops that will support the Blacks. But they only feature towards the end of the war so I think we might only see them in season three or four.

I have no idea about this. I have the book but haven't read this far.

Aemond Targaryen - A Wiki of Ice and Fire (westeros.org)

The wikia doesn't say much about Aemond's personality.  I suspect that there isn't much as Fire and Blood is a history book.  So there should be a lot of surprises and more complexity to come.
