Elissa

Elissar Z. Khoury (Arabic: إليسار زكريا خوري‎), known as Elissa (Arabic: إليسا‎) is a Lebanese singer. She is one of the most well-known female singers in the Arab world. Elissa was born in Deir al-Ahmar and raised amidest the spectacular, natural scenery of the Bekaa valley. She gained a degree in Political Science from the Lebanese University. Elissa is a Maronite Catholic. Elissa won the "World Music Awards" award for two consecutive years with the title "best selling artist of the Middle east" 2005 and 2006.Elissa was the first Lebanese to win this award .
