The Last Airbender also known as Avatar: The Last Airbender is a movie adaptation of Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Legend of Aang. Directed by acclaimed director, M. Night Shyamalan, this story follows the adventures of Aang, a ten year old successor to a long line of Avatars, who must put his childhood ways aside and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water, Earth and Air nations.

In a world where the four elements can be controlled by people known as “Benders”, the Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war to control the other great nations. The only hope for stopping the brutal war led by the Firebenders rests on the shoulders of a reluctant young boy named Aang (Noah Ringer). The last known survivor of the peaceful Air Nomads, also known as Airbenders, Aang is also the world’s “Avatar”. The “Avatar” is the physical re-incarnation of the world itself, with the power to manipulate all four elements.
Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara and her bull-headed brother Sokka , Aang begins a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world. Standing in their way are Fire Nation Admiral Zhao and Prince Zuko , the banished prince of the Fire Nation who seeks to capture the young Avatar to regain his honor.

I am a huge fan of the cartoon. I am excited about this and worried.
Why?
because they cast someone is can't act as Sokka. >.< Sokka was so stupid and funny and they cast someone who can't even smile 
Maybe I will be surprised(but I doubt it)

they got a 2nd coming out I believe. M.Night Shymalan(?) did a poo job. Some stuff shouldn't be made into films or at least leave it to the experts

The Last Airbender is movie of elemental powers and how they are controlled by a little boy and who was the last to control them and to push back the evil army who tries to destroy those having that powers.

He hasn't mastered the craft yet, but M. Night Shyamalan may be on to something with this action-movie thing.Completely harmless and inoffensive, and at the very least, Shyamalan appears to be having a little fun here.The Last Airbender (they couldn't use the series' "Avatar" title because another film got there first, without all the bending) is more about marshaling extras and interpolating tons of computer-generated effects and keeping the factions straight. It's a tough sit.
