The picture was taken in 1968 in Vacaville CA I believe. My father was a Combat Engineer in the United States Army [tunnel rat]. He was fighting during the Tet Offensive and I know he was in Saigon for awhile but he was moved north to Tay Ninh.
My dad didn't talk about the war much. He came home kinda fucked up as a result, and I can't really blame him yanno. My grandmother knows a lot more about what happened during his time over there. I believe at one point he was flying huey's carrying "classified" information back and forth to god only knows where lol. Whatever happened to him caused the President of the United States to send my grandma a hand written letter of appreciation for my dad.
I'll see if my cousin can scan the letter:)
