Born on Sept. 29, 1942 in Blackburn, Lancashire. Although he has done many movies, he is best known for his roles in television series such as Lovejoy, Kings and most of all for his role as Al Swearengen in Deadwood for which he won a Golden Globe in 2005 for Best Actor.
He will appear in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, playing the role of Blackbeard.
