Adelaide may be the only major Australian city to so far be ignored by the big international luxury brands - in terms of their ongoing Australian retail rollout, at least - but it is rapidly becoming a key player in the Australian modelling scene.

Let's add to that list 16 year-old Brigitte Murphy, who walked into the offices of Adelaide's Pride Models 18 months ago.

After a year of development, this former Kangaroo Island farm girl, who moved to Adelaide five years ago, recently began doing a few local jobs.

Murphy has just been signed to Sydney's eMg Models and during a recent trip to Sydney, met with magazines and photographers.

At 5'8", she is not as statuesque as some others. But charisma often trumps height in modelling. Just ask Kate Moss, who is 5'7", or indeed Australia's own Bambi Northwood-Blyth, who was also recently poached by IMG Models Australia.
