Katja Rahlwes shifted her career from fashion editor to photographer and has developed a distinct body of work showcasing glamour and radical independence.

For Rahlwes, who shoots both film and digitally, she says her motivation is driven by the subjects she shoots, "meeting a high maintenance person in a low-tech manner, combining humor and melancholy," it is the mixture of these elements that creates her identifiable aesthetic. Her unique perspective has landed her assignments in Vogue Paris, Vogue Nippon, Self Service, W and i-D Magazine as well as Gucci, Céline, MiuMiu, Chloé, APC, and Maison Martin Margiela. In addition to a proliferating fashion photography career, Katja shows her work internationally in galleries, with her most recent show "_Unknown_Female_Photographer" at Berlin's Galerie für Moderne Fotografie.
